My order for the speakers was cancelled as well, but I got a phone call. The Rep gave me a code for 10% off any Dell item. When I asked if I could use this on top of any other offer, she said I could. So, I guess this 10% code will save me more money in the long run. Now to go find those LCDs which already are 20% off.

I guess some folks just expect Dell to be perfect, just like they are.

<< ok i thought i was gone from this thread forever. but it now seems as if Dell is dragging me along. i just got the dreaded email yesterday. i check the order status page immediatley after and it still said 'in production". i check back later that evening and it says there is no such order. i check again a little later and same thing. i was like "fine, but would have been great to get it if it all went well". now i check one more time and the order shows up "in production" with a revised ship date of 1/2/02? so here we go again, crosses fingers. >>

My order was cancelled as well. When I called up, they told me that my Credit Card had been declined..which was bullcrap! I called back with my amex sales rep on the other line and confronted them again...the amex rep confirmed that Dell had gotten a auhorization number. Then I started getting the run around again...I ended up with a Online Sales Rep from Dell that said he didn't know why the order had been cancelled, and that he would be happy to place another order...so he did. The order is in process again with a ship date of 1/10.....wonder what happens from here.....

Apparently the amount of money you spend on your product also dictates the quality of service you'll receive from them. Way to go, you've lost my business (after I bought my first college computer from them, too). :disgust:

Mine was cancelled to. Personally that 10% coupon is worthless as I don't want anything else on that site. Even if I did, it just probably wouldn't be shipped.

i got the cancelation email, but my item is still in the order status page and today it also got pushed back to 01.02.01.... wtf? This is so screwed up.... I wish Dell knew what they were doing. I can understand them not honoring that $22 price... but why wait almost 2 week to "Cancel" these orders, but then a day after the "cancelation"... alot of people still have the item in their order status. Terrible terrible...

I got the expected speaker order cancellation from Dell.

I had also placed an order with Dell on 7 Dec. for 3 NIC cards & a SB-Live card. That order was LOST somewhere within Dell. I got an "Order Acknowledgement" (no Order #), but never an "Order Confirmation" with an Order #. After 3 business days, I started calling. No one could find anything about the order. A day later I got someone named "Dion" who DID find my order, and said he didn't understand what could have happened. That was 12-15 phone calls later!. He got the order re-placed on Dec. 13 (at the original price structure), but I went to the "back of the line" for product availability.

I received the SB-Live ($23.58 total) yesterday, and am currently waiting for the 3 NIC's (which were supposed to ship 8 days before the SB-Live!). I won't hold my breath!

Let's see: left-click-on FAVORITES; right-click-on DELL; left-click-the-fourth-option-from-the-bottom. There, that's taken care of! I feel better already. It's not worth the hassle!

Got my Cancellation notice also! That bites! I many times bought items from stores with a incorrect marked price, and they always honor them. Always! It's not like Dell would go broke over this. Just might get smarter which I have no roblem with. But we all should own up to our mistakes.

Think I'll call them and give them a piece!

bait and switch is all it was. especially if they give you a order number and estimated ship date

you can t process and then back out.

even if no money is traded conformation and notifing that it has been accepted is a contract

Man, that CNET article made Dell look completely innocent. No mention of the ten days of christmas waiting Dell style.

I wonder how much Dell pays UPS to ship stuff........ If I ordered 50 refurbished screws ($0.47 w/tax) (or screw covers at $0.04 Dell Part# 9540E) on 50 separate orders through small business with the current free shipping offer, I wonder how much that would cost them??? Hmmmmmm

According to the CNEt article, they shipped whatever stock they had, so did anyone here got in on the deal! I ordered my like at 2:30am in the morning, but I got squat!

My scenerio.......
Had to call DELL for free shippimg veification,got a confirmation # for order.
Never got an e-mail confirmation #.
Still shows ship date as 12/21/01

Anyone else confirm by phone & get cancelled?

Hi all,
I ordered one set of the speakers through small buisness and paid with E-Check. They did'nt process the order until the money transfer went through. They cancelled my order yesterday but have yet to contact me about a refund on my money they collected from me. Do you guys think I can press them for a replacement since they have my $$ already?

Well I have been charged as well and also got a cancellation email on my speakers and NIC!!! I tried calling today, but they told me all operators were busy and to leave a message??? Thats a new one!
