Saw this in todays Fry's ad for friday. AMD Tbred 2100+ Bare cpu and Soyo Dragon Lite Board for 139.99. Great deal for the combo.

And i just ordered the same cpu from NewEgg too.

On another Note, the Dragon Ultra Platinum KT400 with AMD TBred 2600+ is also available for 379.99 thought its too expensive for my blood.

Im going to check the other combo out today though

How do u know it's a t-bred, if so, is it the B version?

I've never seen or heard of a T-bred A in a desktop part at 2100+, so I'd say its a safe bet its a B. Not to mention this is a in-store only deal, so you can double-check to make sure when you are there

I'm afraid not, when you buy a CPU, you have to go to the register and they're going to go to the cage and pick it up, so you actually have to see it then pay right away. BUT if you've really havn't seen a Tbred A in 2100, then this might be good , somebody who picked it up please confirm.... (no wonder i saw a full shelf of over a hundred KT333 Lite mobo there last time I went)

There is such a thing a Palomino 2100+ though. Just have to make sure it's not a Palomino and indeed a TBred.

Good point. Took another look at the ad. They advertise that it's a TBred core! Doesn't mean you'll get one though. So just make sure to look at the CPU to know what you're getting, especially if you're looking to oc.

you can check out the processor when they bring it to the register from the cage. i always look them over to make sure its not an rma since frys seels those occassionally. if you dont like what you see dont buy it.

Confirmed. It is a TBred B. AIUHB 0301. I got this from Sunnyvale Fry's.

On my local fry's ad it doesn't say anything about TBred core or .13u like the LA area ads.. grrrrrr... Anybody in Sacramento bought 1 and found that its a Tbred core instead of palo?

Rumor has it that FRY's will be in Florida soon. Privately owned and don't want to go public with the company. Three brothers (out playing on their ranch in Texas) own the chain (well and a female "friend"?).

This is by far (IMO), one of the greatest computer/elecronics/ stores on the planet. They are packed to the gills with product, and the place is just fun. It would take you a week to check out all the junk they have. All motherboards are staked out on carpeted shelves (where you can really check them out), and they carry just about everything for the computer builder/electronics hobbiest.

Hope they end up near you. The place rocks.

i bought a soyo dragon board a few months ago and it was nothing but flaky. then it eventually died. the replacement board they sent me wasnt all that either.

I'd like to buy the combo, keep the CPU, return the mobo, and buy a better nForce2 motherboard. Newegg shows the processor for $95, but if Fry's has it cheaper through this combo, it'd be really nice!

Sounds like a good deal. But reading the reviews of the Dragon Lite on Newegg it looks like it's not very good for overclocking. Just something to think about.
