Here are a couple great deals on some sprint phones. For new customers, you can get a sanyo 5300 (really nice phone w/built in camera) for ~ $39 after pm and rebates. ymmv, of course. Best buy has it advertised this week for $299.99 after an instant rebate. Go to circuit city and pm to bb's price w/10% price guarantee, and there are 2 rebates available for $250. So it is $399 cc price - $299 bb price - 10% pm = $289 - $150 cc rebate - $50 sprint rebate = $89 final cost.
the circuit city rebate only needs copies of the upc, but the sprint one needs originals, i believe.
For existing sprint customers, you can go to the sprint store and get any phone they have and get whatever rebate is available on them instantly off, but you have to sign a new contract for 1 year. (others report needing a 2 yr. contract, so ymmv). I picked up a sanyo 4900 today for $49 plus tax out the door with no activation fees. i only needed a 1 year contract extension. i'm also on a retention plan that i got back in november (which i received a $100 credit back then). I would have loved to get the awesome 5300, but i just needed something to get by, because my old startac was slowly getting more and more dropped calls and problems. Plus, i've spent too much money recently on hot deals. One more thing, to be an "existing" customer, you have to have had your phone for at least 9 months to get in on this promotion. This promotion is supposed to end this friday, but some report it ending mar. 1st. The rep today told me it ends friday, so i'm not sure if they'll extend it or not.
This was sort of pieced together from a few threads in f@twallet. I did a few searches here, but didn't find anything.
EDIT: it seems i can't post a link to the rebates for some reason, but just search "sanyo 5300" on cc's website, and the rebates are there.
EDIT: looks like cc changed the $200 rebate last night to a $150 one. i'm looking around for the $200 one though (it was clearly valid until 02/01/03).
original $200 rebate from 01/26/03 - 02/01/03 <- right click and save as.
