Hot - Apex AD-1500 DVD @ CompUSA $49.99 after mir

Labor Day sale. Great deal through today only. Just got another AD-1500 @ $79.99 with rebate of $30 coming = $49.99. I picked one up at their Mission Viejo, CA store. They have another brand @ same deal but I know from experience the AD-1500 is a great little player. It will play anything I have put into it including compliant & non-compliant home made VCD, SVCD, DVD+RW, etc. Also available at their online store + S&H chg. which would have been about $10 for me.

Bump for a good deal. This model is getting discontinued by Apex and the newer models won't support VCD format discs due to licensing issues. If you burn movies and are looking for a dirt-cheap DVD player that'll handle them, jump on this one as the AD-1500 will handle anything you toss at it including off-format XVCD, scratched rentals and cheapo blanks. Mine has never met a disc it couldn't play.

Yes, it does. BTW, most questions can be answered at the links in my last post. I haven't seen anything close to $50 that does all this player does.

I have this DVD. Is prolly the best DVD out there in terms of versatility.
Is hackable to Macrovion free, Region free, Plays everything (DVD, VCD, SVCD, MP3, etc). The only thing that would be nice is Component outputs..oh well

Circuit City still has some of the AD-1200's that are remote hackable. The hack will only make the player region free. No ones found out how to disable macrovision yet but if you have an older vcr, you don't have to worry about macrovision anyway.

They dropped the price on them to 49.98 out the door but todays the last day. I saw 2 at the CC in Lakewood that were remote hackable and will play vcd/svcd's sitting in their stack. Look for the box that has the white Kodak cd label and with the compact disc digital video logo on the box.

I got in on this... if you want the hackable versions, make sure you get the ones w/ a serial # beginning in A, B, C, or D.

The CompUSA in Orlando had 4 "D" versions, I took one



Plays everything. It would be perfect if it had component out but I guess you can't have everything...
