This is a great all around card. I have had one since day one and have had -0- probs.
It is great for gaming and for watching and recording movies on your pc.
comes with firewire, rca connectors, coax tv in/out, dv out, s video in, and a remote control. and tons of software.
I use mine to record vhs and dish shows to dvd disc.

as for the dif betwteen 64 and a 128, I have both and I can see no real diff between them except maybe on a benchmark.

This is a great card for someone who wants to turn their computer into a all around fun video and gaming machine.
Just make sure you always get the latest drivers.

HI, vaylon

How can you record VHS, I think there's microvision problem for this?

Hi vaylon,

Can you comment on AIW 7500? I don't play games at all, but I want the ability to record from TV or digital camcorder and save them as VCD or SVCD. I will buy XP1800+.

Thanks!

Vaylon,

you use a sat dish - do you need to feed the cable into a receiver and then into the card or can you bypass the card?

Just spoke to ATI Sales at (905) 882-2600. They said both rebates are vaild. Send the original UPC to the Dept. 33906 address. Send a photocopy of the UPC to the Dept. 34570 address. They recommend hanging onto a copy of everything just in case.

Kazel,

That's interesting. I called ATI today three times and couldn't get a straight answer. In fact, they didn't even have any record of the second rebate program. One CSR maintained there was only one rebate valid, that is the "FEEL THE HEAT W/ ATISUMMER REBATE OFFER", at Dept. 33906.

I'm would ask ATI to send an email confirming both offers will be honored. I would like to get this card but not worth it with just the $50 off.

The assurance that both rebates will be honored in writing will be key if they decide to nix the offer. I'll try and get this.

I just got back from the Circuit City in San Rafael CA. and picked one up. I was given 2 rebate printouts.

Limit 2 rebates
per customer
per household
per address

and on the other it says

Limit 1 rebates
per customer
per household
per address

The sales rep. asked the manager if they would honor a copy of the UPC code and he said yes since there were 2 rebates but I think I'll try and contact someone in their rebate dept. just to make sure.

BTW when I left they still had 1 in stock

Went to CC in CA. Bought card. Look at the rebate reciept forms. Talked to the Sales rep about the UPC problem. The rep talked to the Customer service manager. He called Corporate. He told me that they will only honor only one rebate. He explained that their advertisement(3x3 card with price) stated that it was $299-100rebate =$199. They found out that only one rebate can be redeamed so they decided to adjust the retail price to $249. So $249-50 =$199. Thats what they explained here in So Cal. Don't know if I buy it but I returned the card anyway. These card retail price would be $199 in 1 month anyway, I can wait for the 128mb version at $199. If anyone is willing to take a $50 risk there is a card available at Pomona.

the price now dropped to $249.00

BUT in one of the rebate, there is "This rebate coupon cannot be used in conjunction with any other ATI offers"...so i guess only 1 rebate valid...

Only one rebate will go through...at least that is what I was told at CC in KC. Stopped by the one near me and the sign at the 8500DV says $249-$50MIR. I asked about the online stuff.....was told it was an error. Goody, goody.....not worth it at $199 with the 9xxxx series right around the corner and the fact that you can get it the bulk package for $189 at Newegg and the retail for $210.

Unfortunately, with the lack of the second $50MIR, this goes from smoking hot to a little warm.....dang it....

I posted this over at techbargains too...

I went on an intelligence gathering misson. I seized the self tag from the B&M CC, scanned it and posted it for your convenience. It clearly states that there are $100 in rebates. I have a feeling we'll only get $50.00 back, so in 8 weeks I'll take in the self tag and the rebate denial letter to the store and demand the manager give me the other $50. I've done this before when I've been screwed out of a rebate and the CC managers are very cooperative.

Also, brought in the Wal*Mart print out and they price matched it to $214. I played dumb and said they're a B&M store, just like you, with a website.

I printed out the 2nd rebate on the 18th, but can no longer locate it online. I have no place to post it, and it was blurry, like the one that is still available online, so I don't know what good a scan would be anyway.

However, I would be glad to scan it & send it to someone who can post it for everyone, so lmk.

The details of the 2nd rebate, as clearly as I can read them

Don't know what all the fuss is about the rebates. Many times I have had two rebates for a product which both require original UPC's.

Simply do the following (as I do):
1) Keep a record of everything. A photocopy of the reciept (and the original, send them copies), a photocopy of the rebates, and a photocopy of the UPC. Make sure to make notes on the copies of the rebates when you expect to recieve them or when you sent them.
2) After about 4-5 weeks check the status online or by phone.
3) If for any reason you get rejected, call and explain the situation. If they ask for an original UPC again, tell them you already sent that, so you obviously don't have it... But you do have a copy of the UPC, and would they like you to send that. A little arguing goes a long way.

All this garbage about the rebate being rejected or CC changing the price? Ignor it, send in both rebates, and make sure you get them. It only takes like an extra 5 minuets time to guarentee you get the rebates.
