I did search and checked, so if I missed please don't flame me! On the back page of FAR at OfficeMax there are 2 SKUs for the surge protector and the picture (also the link of the other thread) is for the cheap one. The price on line is still $29.99 but I got it rang at the cashier for $5 and $5 rebate= $0.
Tonight, when I asked the guide in OM about the FAR surge protector, he showed me the table that is no more on it and he told me that it's the first one they ran out. After I got the CDR, mouse, and 50pk slim case and the line is still long so I just looked around and found out there is another SKU for the surge protector I need, went to the aisle that have those items and checked the tags one by one to find that SKU. I was about ready to fight at the cashier if they don't ring the ad price, SKU on the tag and the ad matched, but it rang up at $5.00 and printed out of the cash register the rebate receipt for $5.00. So I made two more. There are plenty in stock because nobody knows about it.
There are several items FAR with multiples SKU but I'm lazy to check them all. Please post it you find something!

Went to OM B&M today found both the cheaper 5 dollar surge supressors and the more expensive ones (722868394038)
when i tried to check out the better ones they rang up at 26 dollars. The assist. manager said he can't honor the ad since it was a mistake.
He said the manager would be in tomo. and i could come in tomo to talk to him.

Onenormalman can you post a scan of your receipt. can prove to them tomo that other OM have honored it before. Also anyone else run into this prob. What do you normally say to them to convince them that they are required to honor the advertised prices.

I was talking about the actual one on sale. Often times Officemax will substitute a similar item if the one on sale is out of stock. Also, I don't see the rebate for the more expensive item. If they use the same one as the 6 outlet, you are taking a chance whether you will actually get the money.

The rebate doesn't specifically list the item # or style# of the nicer surge protector. It only lists the cheap one.. I doubt you'll get the rebate..

but $5 isnt bad..

Walked in OM, grabbed the only 2 on shelves, walk to register.

The cashier goes, " You find everything you want today?

I said," Hmmm..." and nodded my head.

The cashier rang it up put it in bag and said,"$10.82 please.....pretty good price huh?"

I said," Hmmm..." and nodded my head.

The cashier took my $, give me back changes and goes."The rebate forms are over that counter by the door."

I said," Hmmm..." and nodded my head.

Then I grabbed the rebate booklet...walked out the door and the ALARM WENT OFF!!
I took a stepped back, do a hand singal to THAT Cashier.

The cashier,"It's ok!" and he GAVE me a THUMB up!!!

Then I left the building.... Heheheh

Just bought 2 from OM in SoCal (Cypress). There are like 15 of them left.

The manager here didn't have a clue about the price so cheap. He said he will get a couple for himself as well lol.

Hey I just stopped and picked up 2 of em at the Rochester, NY Office Max (Greece) and there were like 4-5 left. They rang up as $5 at the register and I got a $5 MIR for both of em (he said to mail them to two different addresses). Great deal!

Some months ago there was a similiar issue at OM with multiple telephones offered FAR and the rebate form only listed one of the phones. My rebates came just fine. I included a copy of the ad with my surge protector rebate submission. The FW site has a big thread on this. Some folks have talked to CSRs and they know about the confusion. Submit your rebate.

Checked my rebate status on www.rebateshq.com and it says INVALID UPC. Anybody else have this problem?

yup I got that too, both of my rebates. it is strange, tho, I got Eligibility Confirmation E-mail that say my rebate is good but invalid at rebateshq.
