Why on earth would you want to use one of these? If you are running a 100MB network, this WILL slow you down......I never could figure out why they made a 10/100 model of these.....USB can't do those speeds.

Zwingle, simple... they made a 10/100 model so it could be used on 100Mbit only networks. Many companies will buy routers and switches that aren't 10Mbit compatible, as they are cheaper to manufacter if you know that you won't need the 10Mbit connectivity.

So, yes, they are slow, but they do have a use and purpose. They are very easy to use and require no installtion other than pluggin it in.

this is all you need for the internet, as most everyone connection is only 10 mbit, and it would also make a good backup nic incase your main one broke...

O ordered two from Dell small business thsi morning, but my confirmation shows I got charged shipping!

I went through the process of checking shipping costs and it came back $0, but I still gor charged.

Just got my usb nic in...

anyone having trouble hooking theirs up to their cable (particularly @home)? I dont want to send it back inbut it might be defective... it installs perfect, says its fine in device manager, but everytime I reboot it cant get a connection to my cable modem (toshiba) -- "PC" light blinks rapidly a few time sbut doesnt sync up and go solid... I use a different usb->ethernet right now and it starts havng the PC connection light on in the middle of bootup... anyone having this problem?
