While the picture on the box is a Lite-on, you're not guaranteed to get one (if this is what you're after). I've bought some that did have a Lite on inside, and some that didn't and they all had the same box Make sure your check the serial number to verify.

Word has it boxes that have a 12 digit serial with no letters are rebadged lite-ons the others are asus actually the liteys arent even rebadged and are detected as lite-ons and retain the original lite-on label / sticker.

The Verbatim (Lite-On) with a Verbatim sticker has three barcodes (on the contents sticker, on the side of the box) and serial # 2112239013243.

The Verbatim (Lite-On) with a Lite-On sticker has two barcodes (on the contents sticker, on the side of the box) and serial # 232307004110.

MrCodeDude or anyone? How good is that ram in overclock? Guessing not very good sense its only standard Kingston ram and just fine if you don't overclock. I could be wrong though.

Thanks for the info on the CDRW drives. Those numbers can be seen on the outside of the retail packaging? At $15 for a Lite-On, the price is right.

Just came back from BB. Only two were left on the shelf. The Verbatim CDRW drive is a Lite-On with 12-digit UPC code. Open the box, it's a Lite-On 52246s model.

I am happy with it.

Verbatim is definitely good stuff. My 40x Verbatim performs very well and has been reliable, much more so than the latest 48x Acer and BenQ Cendyne stuff.

On 10/100 network cards, CUSA has one FAR, which would be worth looking at too.

I just got back from a trip to Office Max & Best Buy. I'd forgotten to write down/print those numbers, but I bought it anyway. (They had a fair number in stock.) Opened it up and yes, it was a Lite On 52246S.
Also picked up a MS Optical Wheel mouse for ~$4.00 after rebate.

I can verify that the Verbatim drive with the 12 digit serial # and 2 barcodes on the side of the box is definitely a Lite-On 52246S. I was lucky and someone had slit the seal on mine to look inside and they gave it to me for $59.99 as an open item, even thought the box had never left the store. I am way happy with a ~ $10 Lite-On 52246S!!!!

I got the Kingston memory with Winbond w942508CH-6 chips. I tested it using MEMTEST86, and it did 2-2-2-5 at 166MHz at 2.5V. I think this is really nice, but it does not like my other memory (Lei), so I am wondering what i should do... I just hope that at least two rebates are allowed, so that I don't have to worry about this kind of memory incompatibilty.

I called the Hawthorne, CA location and was told they are OOS as well. I asked about a raincheck, and he said they would give one for $70, but I forgot to ask how long it would take to restock. The deal is also less smoky without the 10% off coupon that's only good through tomorrow.
