You could always buy the drives and see if they drop within 13 days... if it doesn't return it the 14th day... or is it 30 days if its sealed? Best Buys PM policies stink either way. I was trying to do a pricematch on a Pioneer deh-7900BT car stereo. BB had it for $419 and J&R, a local retailer had it for $299. They gave me some bs that they can not pricematch below there "cost" and the best they could do is take $70 off. Mind you, I have never read anything that states such a below cost clause.

Alright guys, here is the scoop for peeps in my neck of the woods.

There is 1 available at the Ann Arbor BB ($169). Don't bother, the employees (or one of them) is hording it. There is 1 available at Flint BB ($56 - probably same story). There were 8 (now 4 @ $169) at the Brighton BB but they are not on display and there is no tag on the shelf. The customer service woman refused to price match their Flint store (WTF?). I'm a nice guy, I didn't push her, her manager refused. I have 4 sitting in my room and the only store nearby that has it at $56 is Flint. I don't want to drive there so I guess I'll be waiting and checking up on them weekly. I might try calling BB corporate because this is BS how 1 store won't match another for the same product.

I went back to my BB today and tried a different manager, I had the guy bring up a whole bunch of BB's in the system that had it for $56 and several even had it for $86......bottom line, they refused to price match because they would not price match below there "cost"

The most they would knock it down to was $210 or some bull shit like that......and when I told him it was bull shit they would not price match the drive from any of the other BB's that have it for < $100 he told me they reserve the policy to not price watch....BUT IT'S FROM ANOTHER BEST BUY!!!!


They just don't want to sell them for cheap, I might go back to the store and hide the 2 hard drives behind several others and maybe in a few weeks the price will drop.

Hey guys, first post here, been lurking for a while and decided to join up. Checked the St. Matthews BB here in Louisville, guy I talked to was cool, drive rang up 282.00 here as well. BUT, it showed discontinued, there was no spot for it on the shelf, and it was sitting on top of a bunch of 500's. Got a couple other stores to check out, but it's looking grim....dammit.

i tried, but by time i got to the store that had a few , they were all gone.

In the Southwest MI the region includes GR and Kazoo, Battle creek and a few others they are still 162 and its going to take another week or so for a price drop according to a manager I talked to.

I went to Phoenix this weekend, and a few of them had the drives but they were all the $169 price. I found a couple in a tucson location but they were in a different box blue instead of Yellow and were marked at the normal 255 price though did not have a location marked.

I'm in the same boat, bought 2 @ 289... Sitting in my closet till one of the stores nearby drops to $55.99... I just hope it's before 10/18, because thats when my 30 days is up...

Update!

I Battle Creek, MI is priced @ $55.99, one in stock yesterday (doubt its still there) They are in the same region as most of west Michigan. I got my price matched today @ The Comstock Park store (Alpine, Grand Rapids), from $289 down to $55.99. My OTD price for 2 was $118.70 or ~$0.08 per GB... Not a bad deal at all, although it required a little leg work. Thanks a million OP!

One in stock in Timonium, MD store. Took copy of posted receipt, since it was priced at $168. Lady at service counter said she thought she could match, but would have to check w/ manager. Manager said that clearance items were determined by each store and they weren't on clearance at the store because they are still selling a lot of the PATA's to businesses and universities.

Damn when I tried to price match here in State College, PA they just said it was a mistake in their system and wouldn't do it. The manager basically told me they wouldn't sell it to me at that price because they can't sell it below cost.
