L1A's only come with two pin connector unless the reseller mods them with a three pin connector. You have to mod the two pin connector by slicing off one of the little guide rail doohickeys on one side (I forget which side.) Two bad these Panaflos don't come with a speed sensor function.Originally posted by: Gravity
Got 10. Never seem to have enough. The pic wasn't descptive, do they come with tails?
Edit: read the ad, 2 pin tail. Not what I wanted but the price can't be beat!

questions:
1. how much did these go for last time when the deal was supposed to be hotter?
2. because these don't have RPM sensor wiring, is there any other way to monitor the fans? say i want to
use one in place of my current cpu fan and want to be able to monitor and control the speed for example..
3. i read somewhere that you shouldn't connect case fans to motherboard fan headers and that it's
better to connect them to the power supply connectors... is that true?
thanks

[/quote]3. These fans don't draw much power so I don't understand why someone would make such a comment. I run these fans at 7 volts (they are SILENT!!).
Some have even been bold enough (especially those silent PC people) to run their PS fan as a panaflo @ 7V.
Yeah, that was my point. I wish they did make Panaflos with speed/RPM sensors. I probably should have stated it a little different.Originally posted by: Pothead

uh...i have not seen many or any panaflos with speed sensor.
If you look at a normal three connector fan tail it looks just like that except with only two connectors instead of three. Notice on the normal three connector tail that you have two little ridges to align the connector when plugging it in. With the two connector tail you have to slice of one of the ridges with a sharp knife to allow it to fit to the male three pin connector like on a motherboard. This is no big deal.Originally posted by: Devistater
I love quiet fans. But what kinda connector do these have? It sounds like you have to mod the connector to plug it into the computer?
No, you will have to slice off one of the alignment ridges on the plastic connector before it will plug into a male three wire connector on the motherboard (this is probably the easiest way). See my reply above. You can also mod it by cutting off the two connector tail and hooking up a three tail connector by soldering the wires.Originally posted by: Linux2003
So, can I use these 2 pin fans on my motherbaord without modding them?
