The socket that panaflo's come with is a little weird. It has only 2 pins, but the casing the pins are in are a bit wider then the standard 3 pin fan hookup. You have 2 options, either get out the exacto knife and shave it down to size (which works), or buy a standard fan tail.

The 4 pin molex connectors operate at the same voltages as the 3 pin fan connectors, the difference is they generally support higher current and have 2 ground wires (the black wires). The fan<->molex adaptors don't do anything fancy except change the socket shape.

Just ordered 10 myself. It's probably not worth your time/effort. Up to 4 lbs. is $6 and over 4 lbs. is actual cost. Even if it's $10, which would be really high, that's still only $3.65/fan, these fans are well worth that.

Yeah, BG Micro is a great little company, been around for years. If you're an electro tinkerer, better not look in their catalog or all your money will fly away in their general direction .
They also have a 100 ohm 2W pot that should work well as a controller on most 12V fans up to 0.4A or 5W - easy to cut and/or re-notch the shaft w/ a hacksaw or dremel.

For anyone that really wants RPM sensing panaflo's you can get them from Digikey (of course they are more than BG Micro). I have a pair of M1 BX Panaflos that I use for CPU fans in my Dual rig and they are sweet. They are on page 1151 of the Digikey catalog.

like I said it's not the BGmicro deal but they got RPM's.....

I just got off the phone w/ them (very nice people) and the lady said they had to order another batch & the truck just got there. They got swamped on Sat with orders for these. Over 7,000 had been sold. She was wondering just how that happened, since they are a small 4 person - family operation. I filled her in on the AT effect and she was very impressed & surprised. She was also happy to finally know how the info got out there. She also mentioned that the last time they had a run on these fans, they had 3,000 and sold out surprisingly fast also. Now they know LOL

Stopped by today and picked up 10. They don't have a showroom in their small warehouse, but will bring just about anything out for you to see. They even let me test the Panaflos (brought my own 12v transformer) before purchasing. Nice folks. Also asked how I heard about this particular sale, and I told them AT. "Yup, that's it".
