ahh, just thought i would share this with you guys, even though its almost over, i found this deal: go to att&t, sprint, or t-mobile, they have worked with me, i just went up to their counter, asked if they price match, they said, yep, for sure, so i was like...okay, i found this phone on amazon.com and they agreed to pricematch it down to $0 without any mail in rebates...worked for motorola 60-ti, samsung s-105( i think one of the rebates is over for this phone though), t-68i ($25) but this has to be a new activation, only thing

while we are on this subject, any good deals? What about the retention program? My contract expired last month. I currently have AT&T, and they offer me the exact same plan that they offer for new activation. That's just insulting! I can get a new phone with the exact same plan! WTF! I guess they don't really care about their customer. Oh well, I think I may switch over to T-mobile. My roommate gets great customer service from them. Any comments?

t-mobile is good. i've always had sprint, so they offered me an ok deal. i like their vision. still trying to get that free.

I was looking at amazon.com at the sidekick through t-mobile for $250 - 150MIR.. They offer 200 anytime minutes and unlimited MB. Is this a good deal?

200 whenever and 1000 weekend for $39.99 or 500 whenever and unlimited weekends for $59.99. Both include unlimited data but keep in mind that is only for the first year. After that "After 1st year, unlimited becomes 15MB/month, $3.50/additional MB."

Great deal for the 1st year, so-so after that IMO.

Yes, but since T-mobile contracts are only one year you can cancel after that year and sign up for a new service. They will always offer some time of good deal.

In my opinion the best cell phone deal is AT&T's wireless national network plan...
$34.99 a month, 500 anytime minutes, and unlimited night and weekend minutes for a 1 year contract.
This is a good deal if you live near a major city and travel to other major cities often.
Not a good deal if you live somewhere not covered by AT&T.
I'm not sure if amazon carries that specific plan, some places don't, but try getconnected.com

It really depends on what you want and what you are willing to give up.

In my case, I got the T68i from Cingular for $250-175 Credit to my account. This netted to about $90 including taxes with the camera as well. It was about 2 months ago as well before the price drop. That was a good deal for me since my contract was up and I threaten them to cancel. They threw in a year free of wireless internet ($50 saving right there).

While T-Mobile and AT&T might offer good deals on the phones, their coverage in many areas of the country is horrible.

I live in Tucson, AZ and here T-Mobile simply doesn't work inside of 90% of the buildings, so forget about using cell phone at home or in the bar. AT&T might be a bit better, but the coverage is not that good. In my personal experience, Verizon definitely has a step above the competition in the coverage. What's the cell phone good for if half of the time it blinks with "no signal" sign? I actually would rather pay a bit more for the phone, but have the phone and service which works everywhere.

Here in the Seattle area, AT&T has traditionally had great cell site coverage and signal. But each area of the country is totally different. And with the GSM-type changes, all bets are off. Best idea is to find out what coverage works great in your area, then see what phones come with that service. I was looking at the newer phones and was talking to a guy at a retail store. I asked him about a couple of phones, and he kept coming back to one which he really liked. I finally stopped and turned to look directly at him and asked him, "Yes, but does that carrier offer great coverage, no dropped calls, and great service?" He stopped. I told him, "I really don't care about the phone right now, I want to identify who is the best carrier currently." After all, you can buy the coolest phone in the world and get the best deal, but unless you get great calls, day in and day out, rock solid, who gives a flip? I guess it's like my dad used to say, that you should just buy a car based on getting dependable transportation!

Don't you find it suspicious that they offer SO MANY MINUTES compared to the competition? There's a catch!!! "You can't use them if your

You know, I tried this today, and the guy (it was a store that sold numerous phones and services, not just T-Mobile, mind you) said that they see deals like that all the time, but the catch was that we'd still pay something for the phone, not free, and we have to buy accessories for it. So I'm gonna hit up the T-Mobile store tomorrow and see if they'll do a straight PM to a free phone...

This way I don't have to go through Amazon! saweet. update tomorrow...

If I get the Motorola T720i from T-mobile, will I be able to swap in a Verizon or AT&T sim card? or does it have to stay within the company?

Does anyone know how T-Mobile service is in LA? I live in Hacienda Heights. I just ended my contract with AT&T, been with them for 4 years and the best they could offer was the same plan and prices as new customer activations, no credit or anything towards a new phone. I dont want to end up with 1000 minutes and not be able to make a call inside my house, and the worst thing is not being able to receive calls at all. Verizon is offering the Motorola T720i for $79 after rebates so I was also considering that.

Any advice would help

after you sign up w/ t-mobile, if you email them, they'll give you unlock code to unlock your t-mobile phone.. after that, you can use the phone /w any GSM system (cingular, ATT).

i know a store that has verizon t720 for $50 after MIR.

I've just tried the AT&T wireless store in SF, no dice. They said they won't be able to match Amazon.com's price for the phone cuz the phone is not their. It's Amazon's phone, and they are authorized AT&T reseller, they can put whatever price they want on the phone. However, they do offer me $50 service credit if I have their 1 year contract, $35 plan and purchase their $200 V60i phone which I can get it for free from Amazon! I was like, no thanks! Anyone got a good contact I can call to get the deal? I really want to keep my old plan that off peak hour starts at 8, rather than 9!
