?? HOT ?? - Cheap NiMH Batteries

I was cruising a site this morning reading about some neato lights for case fans and ran across a link for site I've never been to: CheapBatteries.Com. I gotta admit they have some pretty good prices on NiMH and specialty batteries. For example they have some 1600 mah AA NiMH with their own name on them starting at $1.50 each. (Pretty hot deal if they are any good). The only downside I saw was that on orders less then $50, they have a $5 handling charge. On the bright-side they claim they only charge actual UPS shipping rates on their orders. Does anybody know anything about these guys and the quality of their batteries?

I been very happy with sunnbattery. Also has some nice prices for smart chargers. I would suggest going for the 1800ma AA over the 1600. The extra 10-12% pays off in cameras, etc. Also brand does make a difference, stick with MAHA, GP, Nexcell, etc.

They're only 1200 mA-H, but #58-5805 from MCM Electronics AA cells are only $0.50 right now.

costco BM has panasonic 6aa @ 1600 nimh for 10$. their is also a nimh combo for 6aa + 2aaa + charger for 20$ (after 5$ rebate).

Question for anyone in the know about NiMH batteries. Can you use any chargers with any batteries? Or are the brand specific?

A friend of mine gave me a Rayovac Wall charger (small white colored retangular charger, says it can recharge NiMH, NiCad and rechargable Alkalines on the back of it) and was wondering if I need to purchase just rayovac batteries?

I bought 8 NiMH batteries and a charger for $20 from Sams, do not remember off had what the mah is. I thought that with the charger this was a pretty good deal and no S/H, the charger will do nicads also.

I received my package from Sunn yesterday - 3 days after placing the order. This is lightning fast in my book, and his prices are very good! I ordered a combo: C204 charger + 8 GP 1800 AA and separately 4 GP AAA. What I didn't like was that 4 out of 8 AAs were just lying there at the bottom of the box next to a torn up plastic pack. 4 AAAs came in a resealable plastic bags. I did have concerns that they may not be brand new (as I still have)... So I emailed the guy and he promptly assured me that none of them are used... Well, the problem is I'll probably never know for who gonna count those recharges 400 or 500 or 600? Oh well, probably shouldn't be so an*l anyway, I guess

I bought the New Powerex 1800 Mah batteries from www.thomas-distributing.com
These seem to be a new true rated power...not just what the manufacture wants to say there power is...

I have been very happy with my other PowerEX batteries...they are top rated at that Battery tester site
