In the CUSA (MV, CA)i went to they still have a lot of everything...
but i did saw an employee from corp office came to collect some book which was onsale....
don't know what happened?
maybe they have to fulfill those online order stuff....
but....wouldn't hurt to try....
besides...don't ask anyone around....just get the book and go directly to the register....
they should just accept the price from the scanner
I was asking a manager, and he give me those wierd look like i am talking some alien language

good luck

Went to the CUSA in SF, CA and all the books were ringing up at their stickered prices ($19.99, etc.). Just got a call from a friend in Ohio (Fairlawn) that had the same problem. WTF guys?

Deal is dying.... went to Nashville TN store.... there was an employee with a list pulling all $0.01 stuff off the shelves. Said they where classified as RTV - Return To Vendor.

This is the same store where I bought 10 of the one-cent Red Hats a month ago.

So, if the store is down the street, might be worth a shot. But don't drive 20 miles out of your way.

my freakin order is still processing!!!!!!!!!!

If anyone has any extra books, send me a email, jeff@skippysg.com or else PM me and I'll give you plenty for your time and trouble.

I could very well legitably use these books that I could not otherwise afford. (25 hours a week at walmart)

Went to CUSA in Detroit (ford road)

Had plenty of books left, plus there is a shelf in the back labled RTV (return to vendor)
Those books also rang up for .01 and I got a few for .88

Left with 19 books for about $17 (tax)

The books labeled $14.99 all rang up .01 , some of 19.99 ones did also

Saw a few fat walleters and Banatechers in there also. The CSR just laughed as we struggled pushing the cart outside.

Lots of programming books.. w/ CD's

Visual J ++ 6
Visual Interdev
Debian on Linux
JAVA 1.1
ISAPI Programming
Perl Programming
Visual Basic and MTS
JavaBeans

And OS books also with some CD's

Win NT server configuration
Win2K server
SMS

Others

PhotoShop
Interactive Development
Oracle 8 Troubleshooting
Implementing Exchange Server
Intro to .NET
Mac OS 9 (big book)
StarOffice User Guide

Thanks for the Tip, some of these will make great nerd gifts.. (I'm one too, dont get offended)

the CompUSA at vacaville didnt seem to have this sale either..picked up about 5 books and all of them rang up as tag-price..ask the guy which ones were on clearance and he pointed out to the ones on the red racks and those were only about 50 percent off..and those books dated as far back as '97..thats a bummer...

I went to Compusa Yesterday in Santa Rosa, Ca. around 5:00 PM and got the A+ book for 1 cent. Regular price was $85.00. The employee that scanned it for me grabbed the other one for himself. I didn't get anything else, thats all I wanted.

Was there this mornig and got all the book that is $.01, except the A+ Exam prep (SKU 282647). Went to compusa store Sawmill , OH at about 6:30pm. Most of the books are still there. Grabbed an extra copy of photoshop secret for my sis, still rings up .01 and no problem with cashier.

Good luck,

Compusa Manager =pain in the @ss

Went to the San Francisco, CA COMPUSA this morning for this deal... like at 8:30 AM. I got beaten there by two asian dudes that proceeded to load every, and I mean every, sale book into their carts. I guess both had plans on fleabay but I asked one of the dudes for the book I wanted and he gave me one. Checked out at 1 cent and no problems.... that one guy must have like 40-50 books in his cart. Thats ridiculous.

I can believe how many people think they can improve their living by passing a mscse or a+ exams. There are much more experienced people out there who are laid off and are looking for jobs, so taking a silly exam wont matter

Besides, how many sysadmins does one company need?

Went to CUSA today and went looking for the 88 cent books, and I pulled one off a cart. Well, employee was in the other isle and comes and sees that I got it off the cart. He tells me that he they can't sell them any more and says that it's corporate mandate that they're sent back to be BURNED!! I tried to let him sell me a full C++ guide with software (normally $100) but no luck. Man, I don't know why he cared so much that those books be burned. Couldn't convince him of the idiocy in that either. Oh well. Good luck finding any more books, they should be taking them all off the shelves.
