Haha oh my GOSH! 39" is $299 & the 50" is $429. The larger models are still pricey (55" is $699 & 65" is $1352). Keep in mind these are 30hz @ 4K, so they have some limitations (read up online). I use these for display kiosks with NUC computers, they're super awesome!

Dude, in my cart and final checkout. I have a Shimian 27" 1440p and I so don't need this. But I'm bored...so I may have to buy it!

Thanks for the heads-up!

No problem, I couldn't believe the price! They have their limitations with the whole 30hz @ 4K, but for a basic desktop monitor for surfing, programming, neffing, etc. it's awesome. They also make great data displays for like Excel, PowerPoint, etc. if you need something in business, the resolution is just bonkers! I do have one CAD guy setup on it running some 3D stuff and it is pretty awesome for that, provided you get a good video card

I love my 39" Seiki. Get the custom firmware on the HardOCP thread that fixes 1080p 120Hz and EDID advertised resolution options.

I don't care about the 4k (not enough source material), but seems like a decent 39" TV for the price.

The source material is your PC desktop. Honestly do not get this if you are only going to us it as a TV.

Link? Is that "set" for all units or is it hit or miss?

If you were to plug your PC into this via HDMI and play games at 1080, would it run at 60hz?

I thought it was pretty funny that TigerDirect advertised "GOALS Look Better in ULTRA HD" - because I didn't realize the sports channels and my cable company were now broadcasting in 4k!

Seriously, though, give these another year and we'll hopefully have DisplayPorts or at least an updated HDMI spec and hardware to drive it.

I'm running 3 1440p monitors... it will probably suit me for another few years. I honestly don't have room for multiple 39" monitors (and I've gotten spoiled by multiple monitors)

As other said, with the fixed firmware, 120hz is doable at 1080p.

If this thing has a decent scaler, it might look a tiny bit nicer than a 1080p monitor, thanks to some anti-aliasing extrapolation to put the video on the 4k panel.

Dang I just upgraded 3 monitors last year for $300 plus change each to the Korean 2560x1440p monitors.

Oh well...

True, but assumes enough GPU to get real use out of the max resolution. And form what I've read, the refresh doesn't really keep up with fast gaming. But maybe I'm not reading the right stuff?

Okay lets go over this one more time. You wont ever want to game on this at 4k because it's 30Hz. This TV shines at desktop app use in 4k for cheap, with 1080p gaming thrown in as a bonus. That is the use case.

If your use case is Pure TV use get an even cheaper 1080p TV, or wait for cheap 4k HDMI 2.0 sets. (ETA unknown) or Gaming @4K 60Hz get out your wallet and buy one of the new 4K monitors with displayport.
