Sounds like a very nice deal.

I was about to buy then saw "$30.00 Mail in Rebate valid from 2008-08-22 to 2008-08-28" in the Rebate Info Box.

So I'm figuring the Rebate ran out at Midnight.

Thx for the Link OP, but think I'll pass due to the Rebate possibly being Void.

Had same deal yesterday 8/28, got in right before the bell at 11:58 PM as rebate ended on 8/28. same deal but I had to pay $6 for ground shipping. They are fast at shipping as order was shipped at 5AM on 5/29

Question: If a rebate having same product and terms except with a different effectivety dates, can you order again and get the a similar rebate even when it says limited to one family per address?

In general just the fact that they specify DIFFERENT validity periods makes it a different rebate and thus valid to take advantage of in any/all distinct offerings.

Double check the "Offer Number" or "Promotion Code / Number" if there is one just to ensure they're different which they should be. Even if not, the fact that they changed the form and put in differing non-overlapping validity dates does give you considerable justification to clam that they're distinct and not relevant to each other if there is any doubt whatsoever.

Of course this doesn't mean that shady rebate companies might not deny your rebate for no justifiable reason whatsoever or say they "got confused" by what they "thought" were multiple submissions -- which is to say they'll try to scam you unless you complain / insist, but that happens just as often even when you've only filed ONE rebate with the company for a given product.

Do be careful though, I've seen some shady rebate offers claim that the validity time for purchase or postmark was relative to some random time zone OTHER than the one YOU live in.

So if it is like that in your particular rebate (read the fine print), say, EST and you're ordering from California / PDT, be sure that you order by local 9pm and not before local midnight or whatever.

I think I'm fighting over one denial now where I bought something near local midnight but after the store web site computer clock which was on eastern time might've been after midnight or some such thing.

I bought the 2 x 1 GB Crucial kit with same speed and specs from Frys.com a couple months ago and they had these Micron D9GMK (?) chips on them (it was D9 something; forgot what other letters were).

I am not an overclocker, but was told they were supposed to be very good for that purpose. YMMV.

edit: my chips were Micron D9GKX (this was 2 x 1 GB PC6400 Crucial set from Frys a couple months ago; don't know what OP links chips are)

Good price OP. However, be aware that the clock latency (CL) is 6 on these memory modules.

Apparently the new rebate is valid for purchases 8/29 to 9/4, so I'm in for a set, thanks OP.

It is a shame they limit the quantity to 1 set when a lot of people have 4 DIMM slots and are looking to run 64 bit, though. Oh well, for the price I can't complain too much.

I bought the 4gb and 2gb kits. Both use samsung chips k4t1g084qd-zcf7 , although the specs is CAS 6, it is actually programmed for 5-6-6-18 according the cpu-z. I was able to run it 5-5-5-18 at 2.0V and the best thing is it does not even get hot unlike my micron ballistix memory. This chips stay cool at 2.0V amazing, why would u need heatspreaders? In my opinion this is a great deal.

Samsung makes great memory chips, remember the infamous TCCD? I still have my 4 x 512mb TCCD modules as well as the samsung UCCC chips.

Come to think of it, I did buy a bunch of these several months ago, and yeah, they were re-badged Samsung. Do your's have Samsung stickers, too? They looked like they were popped right out of a Dell.

In for a set. Off to a good start on my new setup w this and a $50 (after $30 MIR) Sonata III. Was gonna hold out for an E5200 or maybe an E0 E8400 but Fry's E7200/ECS combo for $100 looks really tempting right now.

forgot the Logitech LX710 combo for $30 after mir

If anyone cares the $40 AR ($30 MIR) CL6 DDR2 2x2GB 4GB RAM kit deal is back on at Fry's with a different / new rebate offer number & date range, so you can order another set if you got one(s) during previous rebate periods over the past few weeks.

$5ish ground shipping this time.

So you're saying that this RAM has a CAS and UPS latency of 6?
Eh I guess it is slow RAM.

The speed is fine. I'll pair it with an e5200, and hope to get to 320bus. At 640 I'm sure Cas5 would be easy.
