Hope Crucial comes thru...

I just emailed them and:

Thank you for your email. I have generated a credit memo in the amount of $12.00 ($6.00 for each module) back to your credit card. We can only credit back one time in the 30 day time period for this order. You should see this credit on your next bank card statement.

Way to go Crucial.

Any good deals on pc2100 (or 2700) registered ECC ram? Crucial's deal for $145.99 doesn't seem too hot...

Thanks,
Aaron

Add in the cost of the PCB, manufacturing, testing, packaging, shipping, etc, we're still a long way from the glory days of $20 for 256MB DDR2100.

according to pricewatch, we are $3 away.

They also lowered the price on their PC3200, if anyone cares.

No bottom in sight yet I'm holding out for any signs of strength in the market (i.e. a couple of weeks with no price reductions).

Hang onto your hats folks, looks like the memory roller coaster isnt done yet.
In what could be a dreadful piece of news for the industry but great news for consumers, DigiTimes and Commercial Times reported that DRAMeXchange is forecasting another 10-15% drop in prices in the first few weeks of March.

I'm getting ready to build an 845PE P4 system to overclock (2.4 to ~3). Would Crucial be better than the 'Samsung Original DDR333 PC-2700 512mb CAS2.5' for $78 at Newegg?
And is PC2700 enough or do I need PC3200?

I have Samsung PC2700, and was able to get my 1.6 to 2.4 perfectly stable. However, Crucial is also well known for helping overclockers achieve insane speeds. But I don't think you'll need PC3200, I read somewhere you can actually take a slight hit in performance.

Got a stick of Crucial 512MB PC2100 for $53 with that $20 coupon deal. It's running on my Epox 8RDA+ perfectly at 166Mhz 6-2-2 CAS 2. Whoo!!! Crucial overclocks like a charm.
