Don't bother emailing support at 2checkout for your transaction number, I just received a response to my request and they told me Cyberwings has a list of all the transaction ID numbers available and that they would need to find my information. So much for Shawn telling everyone to email 2checkout for your ID number if needed!

Yo. I'm ticket #79 and I've not heard anything yet. He said first 40 AYW and reseller so even if I approximate half of the first 80 are AYW and half reseller, then I would barely have been in the target region for the first set of rebuilds. I'll update when I get an email from them.

I was tempted to just bail on cyberwings but I figured it was only $3.90, it's sort of worth seeing what the final outcome is.

Still haven't gotten my question answered...

If you get a refund will they refund the cost of your domain? I bought it from them too.

My emails were lost when my desktop crapped out on a bad hard drive 2-3 months ago. I also had printouts, but chucked them after 2 months or so of service with CW, didnt think i would need em

I would highly doubt they will refund you your fee for domain registration. The domain is yours until you let the registartion lapse or until you sell it.

We'll see how long this lasts - I still have my doubts that this can stand up long term. The amount of goodwill he and his staff burned through is incredible. The ill will that the built up is immense, and will be a lot harder to get rid of.

Well congrats on getting your account setup. Can you tell me what "plan" you had before the downtime and how much space/bandwith/etc. you have with your new AYW account?

I too am highly skeptical of CW's future. Most people paid for their services a year in advance (with prices being so cheap) so I would imagine only a small percentage of accounts are being billed monthly. If that is true, little revenue is coming in on a monthly basis. He's also said that he will accept no new customers until he's "fully" rebuilt. If he stands by that statement that would mean no new accounts until possibly the end of August, which is when he has said he expects to be done with the rebuild. And then you have to factor in the refunds that people are asking for, which he said he would mail by August 9.

That, to me anyway, seems like the makings of a short-term cash crunch. I have no idea how much capital he has, but if the allegations are true that he owes money to both LightShip and RackShack, that doesn't sound like the behavior of a company that's flush with cash. If they are undercapitalized, he could be in trouble.

Cant tell you what they upgraded me to as I cant log into plesk from work due to our firewall

"I am aware of what their site says and he has been notified to change this.
He has full access to all the orders and would do the same thing I have to
do to find the order numbers. We have thousands of Merchants and can not
spend this time on all his thousands of customers. If you have problems

i never got any hosting from cyberwings, buy dixiesys uses 2checkout too and on my order confirmation it says

so 2checkout should be helping you since cyberwings has been pretty much unresponsive. have you thought about going thru your credit card company and doing a chargeback?

How many servers are now online and being used for customer accounts?
New Servers are Dual Pentium 4 Machines, Dual Hard Drives (80 or 120GB Drives IDE), 512mb-2GB of RAM depending on the box running PLESK 2.5.3 w/ RedHat 7.2 - we are limiting each box to X number of AYW and X number of Reseller accounts and we have more servers on order to install. Currently 1 server is online for Cyberwings.com and CyberWings use solely. 17 other servers are online for customer accounts. 12 More servers are being built and will be online after we have filled the 17 available

woah?!?! I didn't even know there was such a thing as a motherboard that supported dual P4's!!

What's so strange about dual p4's (xeon)? We get these in from Dell all the time. Precision Workstations is the Dell line for dual p4's.

I used Paypal so far no sign of my $$ yet.

Shawn stated in IRC chat that those who paid by Paypal would be getting a check mailed to them. He said the checks would be mailed by August 9. I guess it has something to do with his Paypal account (allegedly) being restricted.

This is not to say that I believe or endorse what Shawn says, only relaying info for your benefit.
