yeah, its called bait and switch. They can't get you to place an order for an item at one price and then charge you another price when you aren't looking. If your receipt shows $20 but the charge goes through for $60 that is called fraud and I would complain to your CC company. Tell them that you have a receipt for $20 not $60. They will help you get to the bottom of this.

I ordered mine COD, the delivery guy left it without payment, called later and asked me to leave a check the next day. There is no way they can over charge me

little update i called toll free # and told the csr my order status was "on truck for delivery"
then it said "customer refused/canceled" but i was home all day and didnt refuse the order
he said ok lets do a new order so we did one and when he tried to enter it it said out of stock
so i asked if my local store might have one in stock he checked and said yes so he made a new order
i had him confirm the 21.76 price and he told me i could get it at the store well i drive to the store
go to the counter give them my new order# and get my router sign the received sheet ask for a copy
for my records ok im happy and as im walkin out the door i read the copy it says 73.00!
i went back and said wait my coupon code didnt go through so i showed her a copy
of my order with the coupon so she went to the big boss and hes all just re credit his card and override
the coupon price so she did and it all worked out ima happy camper had 2 ordered but ones better then nothin

I did everything, got confirmation (ordered Sunday) and on the website, it says that my Order ID number isn't in their database...
I'm hoping that it'll show up tomorrow on my doorstep anyways, but I do have doubts Damn, really wanted this too

dude, you've asked for other people's order numbers how many times in this thread now?....I thought you tried calling already and the CSR said it was no good? Maybe it's time to look out for the next deal...


Anyway, I'm not gonna worry too much about the them swapping the price. I really doubt that's going to happen since OD is a respectible retailer. It's not fraud; it's a breach, but definitely call your credit card company to dispute it. Good card companies like Amex and Discover will take care of it for you...

you'll hear from me again if I do get a $70 charge on my card though...

OK, ordered on Sunday around 10 AM for delivery (the site said local store had 2 but couldn't do a pick-up order); online status showed "3 Day Delivery Pending" on Sunday and Monday, changed to "In the Warehouse" then to "On the Truck" on Tuesday, and received it today (Wed). So I got it 1 day ahead to the original delivery date. HAPPY! Both online status and invoice in the box say the $21.XX price, but my card hasn't been charged.

I've found office depot to be very slow in charging cards sometimes....sometimes, my card hasnt been charged until 3 - 4 days after i've received my package.

I have received all of mine I ordered . Got 5 in all Here is a pic of them. After MIR's it will be $6.50 plus stamps for all 5 of them . Definately the best deal of the year . Thanks to original poster here and over at FW

that talks about a $15 off of $50 (I found $15 off of $30) coupon for OD's site.

If you're adding a wireless card with this deal, or if you need one now that you've
got it, that $15 should sound pretty good. ($59 - $15 - $10 rebate = $34)

WTF?! I ordered 3/16, and was promised 3/20 delivery; now when I log on , I see "delivery refused"... I'd understand (but not be happy) if they said "price error", or "coupon error", or something that implied that *they* had decided to cancel the order, but I'll promise you this, no one refused delivery because they never attempted to deliver squat.

"Delivery Refused" appears to be happening to many people over at FW. It's apparently OD's easy way of cancelling your order. In my case, OD has taken a different approach:

My original order # is of the format: xxxxxxxxx-001
It's status has been changed to "Completed, Marked Out" (i.e. cancelled)
The router's price has been zero'd out and the $47.74 coupon has been removed

The original order has been replaced w/ order #: xxxxxxxxx-002 (i.e. -002 instead of -001)
It's status is currently "3 Days Delivery Pending" w/ a delivery date of 03/24/2003
The router's price is $67.74 (plus sales tax on on $67.74); however, the COUPON IS NOT PART OF THE ORDER.

I never authorized OD to ship me the router at $67.74 nor did they ever inform me of the price change. Furthermore, I have an e-mail confirmation from my -001 order showing the $67.74 router along w/ the $47.74 coupon for a total of $20 (plus sales tax on $20).

If OD ships me the router at the full $64.74 price, I'll try to resolve the incorrect charge amount with them first (as required by credit card companies). If that fails (which it will), I'll dispute the ENTIRE CHARGE through my credit card company. OD cannot change price of a sale after it's been accepted w/o notifying the consumer first. My e-mail confirmation from my original order showing the $20 purchase price is all the proof that I need. More than likely my credit card company will only let me dispute the $47.74 (plus sales tax on $47.74) amount; however, if I'm lucky, I'll be able to charge back the whole thing! :Q

If for some reason my CC company won't accept my dispute, I'll return the router to OD.

I am keeping my router shrink-wrapped until I know how much they'll charge my credit card account. It has not been posted for almost a week now. I will also dispute if they over-charge me. If that fails, this router is going back. Good thing we have plenty of time to mail in the rebate.

Well since the Coupon / Deal is Dead, I instead added some pen's to bring it up to $75, then added a $25 of $75 Code...after rebate it will be under $30...still screaming for a 22Mbps Router....added the Card too with a $15 Coupon. The Router is to arrive in 3 days, I pick up the Card today.

Funny how they came into stock real quick once the -$47 Deal was killed....
