I'm glad I got to the store when I did. I think this unit really has a pretty good sound to it. For DVDs I suggest turning of the X-Bass and setting the equalizer to "flat". For music CDs I would recommend either Rock or Jazz, but that is up to personal preference.

i sell electronics at sears, and i'd recommend the warranty. that is a product replacement warranty for a year past the manufacturers warranty (should be 90 days). if you have problems, u just bring it into any sears stores with ur receipt and sears will give u a replacement that day for free (unlimited replacements). and since that model will be gone shortly, u'll get an equivalent model for no extra cost if (or at least legally you should, you might have to complain first though). so say next year if you have problems, and the cheapest surround sound 3 disc stereo is $250, sears will give you that unit for no extra cost and you'll still have a warranty for the rest of the original policies term. not a bad deal, i've used them quite alot myself. hope this helps

I'm on the wrong side of 30 and I have quite a collection of cassettes, but they're collecting dust. I haven't played a cassette in years. Most of the muzak on those cassettes is available in MP3 format, so I've got a new collection. Kazaa is your friend.

That code is only for 2 or so specialty stores. I'm going to try using one of the $10 off coupons from the Premiere discount booklet they sent mea while back (adding something cheap to make it at least $100).

OK, I just got the unit. It is quite good, but thereis one minor annoyances. There is no equalizer. If you set it to one of the preset equalizer settings, the surround speakers would turn off.

No. Search for 05790632000 on the main page. It's still showing up, but it won't let you view it or add it to your cart.

I just got back from the Thousand Oaks Sears and picked up the one I ordered today. They took over 5 minutes to get it so I got a coupon for $5 off my next purchase. I got another shipping confirmation for UPS today, so that one should come next week. A 3rd one is supposed to be ready for pick up tomorrow. 3 stereos for under $350 including tax and shipping. Score!

They told me there were no more in stock, but I think they just stopped selling them. Before picking up the order I had them check stock and the number didn't even come up for them.

They say the warranty is the same and I can get a full refund within 60 days. (Yup, 60 not 30 days!)
Is it a good deal or what...
Does anybody know how long this product has been out? (for display)
If not, is there anyone who had anyexperience with the display products in general?
I need some suggestions for my purchase.

I was trying to record my cassettes as .wav files.
I am using a "Y" shaped cable with one end going to the "line in" of the sound card. I put the other sides into the center speaker and one of the surround speakers.

If I increase/decrease the volume on the stereo, there is a corresponding increase/decrease in the .wav file. Obviously, I cannot listen to forty of these cassettes while recording into the computer.

Do I need a separate cable? Help please...

Unplug the speakers on the stereo and listen thru the computer.
