oh i completely agree. this is a retention plan, but the CSRs also mentioned that this is a "promotion" so new sign-up "might" get it too.

you got this plan; "1,000 BONUS Anytime Minutes

250 additional minutes a month for four months starting January 2004, on all Local, National and Family plans $39.99 a month or above with a 2-year agreement. Unused minutes expire each month. Additional Anytime Minutes: All terms and conditions relating to Included Anytime Minutes apply." and think its 1000 anytime minutes every month??

i already clarified several times. I HAVE 1000 MINUTES A MONTH. IT DOES NOT SPREAD OVER A NUMBER OF MONTHS. DAMN!!!

Are you trying to say that the minutes are not spread over a number of months? Please elaborate.

anyone that knows anything about retention plans is that they depend on the person that calls/the csr/the plan you had/how much more you are willing to spend. So many variables, yet you call this huge YMMV service plan Hot?

no it's not spreaded.

for me it is a retention plan, but this promotion is in the system.
it is "your effort may vary" but the result is almost guaranteed.

anyway...i guess i'll back off for now, i originally just wanted to spread the wealth, if i am flamed over this it's not worth it for me.

Hey, my contract ran out Nov. 11 , but I still have the same contract. How can I get them to switch me over to this new plan?
I had a 1 year plan, and this is my first celly. Not sure of what happens after the contract ends. Does it roll over for another year?

Thanks,
dan

I'm trying to get this, but the CSR spent 30 minutes looking, and could not come up with anything like it. I'm in Ohio, I don't know if this matters. I am an ATT cumtomer (at the moment), but I'm only being offered $25 equipment credit, and nothing else.

Is there a promotion code associated with this? (sorry if this has been asked. I looked and didn't see it).

Thanks.

Since your contract has expired, you can cancel your service without paying a termination fee. You will still have the same plan as you had when under contract, but you are a month-to-month basis now. Just call them up and ask what kind of deal they can give you for renewing your contract for another year or two.

remember fellas..

AT&T's GSM and TDMA services are not equal. Their GSM network is new so no matter what phone you get the service will suck.

No doubt!!! GSM SUCKS Here in Salt Lake City too!!! It's about the worst cell phone service I can imagine. I'm so frustrated with AT&T right now I could scream.

My contract expires this month, but I live 10 miles outside of one of the top 100 cities, so number portability isn't an option with AT&T yet! AARRRGGGHHH!!! Every other provider is allowing number portability in our area (Provo/Orem), but AT&T. That company SUCKS!!!

And this is coming after 5+ years of rock-solid TDMA service from these guys. I guess they really do care about customer service. :disgust:
