Maybe. Mine shows "Graphics Chipset ATI RADEON X850 XT PE, Driver Name RADEON X800 XT Platinum Edition". ATITool shows my chip is a R420.

PXC , thank you your link showed the same thing I was asking . Must be a 3dmark 2005 thing with the chipset id.
Bob maybe you should try answering the question posted and stop being so damn parinoid. Also thx for the powersupply info I asked you for earlier in this post, it was very helpful. I ended up upgrading to 500 watts and my 12v rail is now 12.08 instead of 11.68 with the 350 watt. Have a nice day.

Yes Catalyst 5.7 had serious issues with swapped textures not showing in BF2.
5.8 fixes it.

I'm guessing we won't see any "GREAT" deals on ATI cards for a while. Since ATI more or less openingly admitted to their sins, they have little reason to "give away" their high end cards until they can "re-assess" their sales strategy:

I suspect they will have another difficult financial quarter (ending November 30).
ATI said gross margins in the fourth quarter are expected to be in the single digit range, which includes an inventory writedown of about $60 million to $70 million.

It had a 4-pin molex to 6-pin funny thing adapter in it. The sticker on it reads:

There was no paper in the package, nothing explaining why this was sent. The x800Pro doesn't have a 6-pin place to plug in the power and I don't think the x800XT PE had one either though I sold it so I can't look at it to find out.
Any ideas what this is about?
