Yeah, my memory is clocked at 560MHz. The memory is rated for 1.2GHz, so everyone should be able to get at least that much of an overclock out of it.

isn't the memory speed doubled? so 560=1.2? i just don't know why on that one page it says 575, which i really don't care about, but that is what ati says...personally i will not o/c because i don't need the extra 5-10fps or move up in resolution, 1280x960 works perfect, and after that point i will get into ram shortages, and i am not buying another 1GB for this rig.

560 is the stock mem speed on the X800XT PE. The ATI site specs are wrong.

Oh I didn't know that thanks for pointing it out!

Hey do you guys think my power supply will be able to handle the X800XT PE?

Specs:
P4 2.66 @ 3.0
GF3 Ti200, 2 ATA HDs, DVD-ROM, DVD-RW drive, sound card, 5 case fans, floppy.

Turbolink 420watt CWT-420ATX (Channel Well)
+3.3 28A
+5 40A
+12 18A

Motherboard Monitor - Average readings (surfing net, playing mp3s)
+3.3 3.16v
+5 5.06v
+12 11.34v

Edit: I got my numbers from the "high/low" section in MBM.
Turned on logging for MBM and played some games, my +12 was about 11.78.

If your system is not fast enough it will decrease the performance of the video card, and at high resolution, ram use increases and if you use the page file you take a performance hit as well.

those are really low mine is at 11.98 under load

I grabbed the averages from the "high/low" section in motherboard monitor so I'm not sure how accurate that number is. I just tried testing with winamp playing, a few Firefox tabs open, and played NFS:U2. Looking at MBM's logs it was hovering around 11.78 during my test.

As I post this, it fluctuates between 11.84-12.03. Might still be too low .

Turbolink psu's are garbage. I've had 2 go out on me. One melted the atx power connecter on the motherboard and the other just died. They were both the same model # you listed. I stick with fsp/fortron or antec now.

my 12V high low are 11.92 - 12.65 with an average of 12.28 w/ ~3000 reading. does anybody else have a handwritten # next to the power connector? or is that a sign mine is in fact a true refurb? i will post pics if needed..

i have seen quite a few pics of the ati ones online lately as i did a search on google. most of the ones i viewed that had the purple power connector did in fact have the same type of writing in the same spot as mine....weird.

bob4432,
I have ? for you . How is your Antec 350W P/S holding up with your new card? We have almost the same specs and I am wondering if I have enough juice for this card?

so far so good, not weird shutdowns or anything. and i have taxed the card pretty well with benching it since it got it and i have played bf2 @ 1280X960 4aa everything on high and had no problems, except i did hit the pagefile. this was on my dedicated server with nobody on but i was able to do anything i needed. i definatly will not add anymore hardware to this setup and will probably keep and eye out for a good price on a good psu, but for the time being, all is well

You won't believe the difference between 1GB and 2GB in BF2. I have a A64 3000+ with a 9800pro and my friend has a P4 3.0 with a 6800Ultra. We both only had 1GB. I picked up an extra 1GB 2 weeks ago. The difference was big on the 9800, but even more so on the 6800U. I was running 1152x648 (HTPC) @ Medium, but he was runnning 1280x1024 @ High.

You haven't played BF2 until you have played it on a 53" HDTV

X800XT shows up tonight. Woohooo.

At first I didn't see any markings on mine that would say it had been used before. After the posts about this writting, I noticed it looks as if something was scrapped off of the top of my power connector (very faint scratches). It looks like a sticker was removed and there is the writting next to it in goldish colored ink. That made me think maybe this was a refurb, but if this is standard maybe this is just markings from the manufacturing process. Anyone else have an ATI sticker on theirs next to the purple power connector that partially covers an electronic part? It looks as if the sticker wasn't made for this board. The serial number sticker on back does the same thing.

thanks...so how do you know the info? from task manager? or the ati program?

also, are you saying that once you start increasing RAM usage, you start using your page file too?

thanks.

I was a bit concerned as well but that's good to see as I have a similar setup to yours. P4-2.8b with 2GB DDR400 and 1-15k Cheetah & 2-200GB Hitachi drives all on an Antec Smartpower 350. My rails have been rock solid ever since I've had this PSU, so hopefully there won't be any problems by the sounds of it.

COOL! You've got ~same PS and a LOT more draw than I....so I should be looking good!

If you had a 9800 Pro or 9800 XT BEFORE installing the X800XT PE, you more than likely will be in good shape from a power supply standpoint since apparently, the X800XT PE draw ~ the same power as a 9800XT.
