I got my card today, now only if my gay CPU and MoBo would work :|||

Do you guys have any idea how much it blows to have something as sexy as a X800XTPE come to your door just a few days after your CPU/MOBO decides to fvck itself?

/me is angry ((

Now if only my RMA'ed Motherboard would get here but that isn't going to happen until Monday

I'm in the same boat. I ordered on the 5th and received it on the 18th. I sent out my MB on Monday on an RMA. Epox received it on Thursday, so hopefully the replacement is on its way back. I replaced my TI4200 in my second machine (Athlon CP @ 1743) with my ATI AIW 9700 Pro. The new card is for my main computer with a mobile Athlon that has been running at 2300 (3200+ spead.) I want to see how well this new card can do in HL2 and FarCry!

I received my X800XT PE today. The FEDX guy just left it outside the door without knocking. I was sitting about 7 feet from the door and didn't even hear him or her. Lucky I knew they were leaving them without a signature and checked a few times through the day.
My card has the gold writing near the plug in looks like 3300 P. there are only line in the gold connections from the manufacturing process (looks like it was flat belt sanded so it would uniform).
I am waiting for the Cooler Master power supply (thanks for the heads up also). Monday will be the soonest I try mine. I haven't seen anything about the yellow plug in and look at the manual sent with the card and the PDF manual from the ATI web site.

I just formatted so I'm putting in all the new benchmarks right now. I'm actually running ATI Tool to see what my max Core and Memory are... so far my Core has crept up to 528 after 20 min and still running without artifacts. I'll post my end results of benchmarks and OCing

All I have to say is... AWESOME card. My 64mb Radeon 7500 just wasn't cutting it anymore =T

I got my card today, and I'm definitely happy with it. It was brand new and came in a white box with manual and accessories just like what others got. I Installed the new 5.8 drivers and ran a few benchmarks and games with no problems at all. Thanks again to the OP and ATI for the deal .

can you compare what you got to this pic Here, do you have the writing in the upper right by the power connector? do you have extremely faint lines on the contacts?

Mine looks identical to yours including the lines on the contacts and writing in the corner. There's even a scuff line on the killer monster dog beast on the cooler. It's obviously been used before but I could care less as long as it runs fine. I'm about to install it now.

Yup, that's what the man asked for. The scores were with an OC of around 465/1230. My GT got within 200 points on 3D Mark 05 with an OC of 440/1140. Hope the new X800XTPE does better.

I've never overclocked anything in my life, but I used ATI Tool to test the max of the card. I maxed:

Core: 573
Memory: 580

When I ran them independently. Would it be unwise to leave the overclock at say...

Core: 560
Memory: 570 ??? With stock cooling?

trojan,

what do you mean it crept up? does the core speed change upon usage or something?
and what are your temps with overclocking?

thanks.

Got my card the other day and installed it with the Cat 5.8 drivers. Seemed to work OK for a while but crashed while playing DS2 for an hour or so. This was the same kind of crash you get when you overclock too far. I had been using an overclocked x800 pro before this card. Never had any problems with the Pro. I was running the Pro at 525/535 and it was always stable. The new card looks exactly like my old card except for one chip and the extra plug. The memory chips are Samsung on both cards but are different versions.

Could this be a voltage problem? I would think the x800 pro would have drawn a similar amount of current as the xt pe. The XT was running at factory settings when this occurred. It has happened twice.

He prolly enabled overdrive. It adds a few MHz as long as your temps don't go too high.

Hey Masamune, I'm running a Northwood too!! ... 2.53 @ 2.85. I love this thing, been using it for almost 3 years. Running the Albatron i845 mobo.

Going from R9800 pro (OC) to X800 XTPE:
3DM 03: 6365 to 11624
3DM 05: 2914 to 5740

I think that's not bad for someone with AGP 4x and single-channel ram, no?

Yikes... got my first crash on this card. Playing BF2 for about an 1 1/2 hours. Had everything running on high w/ 4XAA and then the game just locked up and quit on its own. Not sure if it was because of the video card though - everything was running smooth as silk and then it just quit on me.

Possible reasons? insufficient power maybe?

Yes, esp if the game just exited to the desktop?
What temp is the driver reporting after gaming a long time? Mine only gets up to 65C as I recall...
