vfdfs2, your situation is different. Because you bought the G2 in Hong Kong and will be using it in the US, it is no need to buy the 100% retailed one. Even though you bought the original retailed one, the warranty will not be cover in the US. Saving more to get the one from "grey market" is a good choice. I also agree with you, however, that we still have to physically check out the camera (from grey market) carefully. If the store you bought the G2 from offer no exchange or repair service if there is something wrong with the grey-marketed G2, Canon will do nothing for you. So be warned!

Good tip there, Tazmania99. Yes, the store i got it from in Hong Kong does not allow exchange or return. If it broke or found to be defective, you are on your own. However, the bright side from the store i got it from is they let me tested a couple grey market G2s before i bought the one i want.

Gosh... this looks extremely tempting...

Checked their ratings on resellers... there's only one comment saying that they are hard to contact. It's quite a risky order...

I bought my G2 a couple of months ago for $799 from J&R and pricematched using AMEX BVG against A&M Photoworld and received $250 back (it was $549 there), making the price go down to $549 for that camera!

BVG rocks!

if you can still do a BVG, then its definitely the best deal.. also, i would stay away from Alien Photo.. their site looks like it was cloned from another one of the cheap and shady online retailers... i can't remember which one, though

call them up, you will get a lot cheaper price (I got my G2 for $719 from them)

Is the PM still available for Amex BVG? If that is so, i'm going to apply for one and get it PM( PriceMatched --->scorched03) to the A&M website. I heard from other threads that Amex was no longer recognizing that store as a valid PM...

Amex Gold certainly does price match online sales. I just PMed this camera today to Broadway Photo $539 price and while I don't know if they'll approve it or not, they took the online merchant's name without saying anything.

Now, to find a good deal on a printer to take advantage of the rebate...

Today the G2 is about $645 at dell after 10% and 75$ off, plus receive $13 cash back if you use Stockback. That's less than what Dell pays for them.

Hi all. I was wondering if there were a good way to find cheap prices for pricematching? (specifically digital cams) Do you just do a google search? Or are there sites that post them? Any info would be great.
