I couldn't open the rebate to check it out, it says 'file damaged'. That's a first.


Any reviews on this drive? I'd imagine it's average, but that's a great price.

I experienced the same bad file problem as well. I think I will wait until the rebate form is up to buy one. I don't want to be sucker into buying a drive that is not on sale.

According to the storage review website, this hard drive is very quiet but slightly slower than the top of the line Maxtor or Western Digital hard drive.

I have 2 of these running with a RAID setup under Fedora core 2. They are the quietest drives I've ever (not) heard and are nice and fast too. My past experience with Seagate has been excellent and the 5 year warranty is nice. The price makes this seem like a no-brainer to me.

I bought one two hours ago. The shipping charge is weird $8 something for ground shipping and $9 something for 2nd-Day shipping. I am used to seeing ground shipping charge being much less than the 2nd-day shpping charge.
