I know its offtopic, but BUY.com is not suck. PLease help them by actually buying something without using a coupon, or by going to their site and clicking on a few banners. They are what makes sites like anand and others exist.
Anandtech is for people without a lot of money so stop the preaching. If we had a lot of money, we wouldn't bother to save coupla hundred here and there.
Thats life in the ecommerce world. Why should we help them by not using coupons? Its not like they give to charity! Screw em I say! Amazon rules! hehehe
Not sure about that one less in a million...how many estores have been folding up left and right? Tons and which stores are good? Not a lot of em...so help em out if they stay in business we can do our PM's with staples and rape them too
DealBabe, the best thing you could do for them is buy some of their stock. Use the kid's college funds. Buy as much of their stock as you possibly can. Call your friends, tell your neighbors! Buy, Buy, Buy.com!
yes, we should start considering how this hot deals forums does to other people's lives....What if you were one of those people who were getting laid off...
I think we all know that we should respect the use of this forum and to not buy multiple items with the use of coupons..
Coupons are only supposed to be used by those who recieved them.
Geez, since when did buy.com become a charity and not a for-profit business? The gov't schools are suck, preaching National Socialism as a religion and these are the results. Don't use coupons...poop-on.
"Aliso Viejo, Calif.-based Buy.com reported a fourth-quarter loss of $27.4 million, or 20 cents per share--compared with analysts' expectations of a loss of 19 cents. The company also cut 2001 sales projections from $1.05 billion to $600 million."
Jeeeezus!!
How long can you lose $100+ Million a year and expect to stay in business!!??
The Company.com should die a quick and painless death.
The CEO and CFO should go out and get real jobs.
I do feel sorry for the Stock Clerks and CSRs who are losing their jobs.
<< Buy.com has been rattled by tough economic times and executive departures. The company's chief executive and chief financial officer resigned two weeks ago following the company's announcement that it missed fourth-quarter estimates. >>
<< Is this the company that had the cheap ads out on pricewatch and would not honor them about a year ago, they seem to have not recovered >>
I forget exactly but I think buy.com was the one who was forced to basically give away all those free monitors because people took them to court or something over a pricing error. (I didn't think that was right for people to do).
I like buy.com, but doubt they will survive with the higher prices they have now.
As long as there is a place to buy something cheaper, people will buy it there instead.
