what kind of language is that sammy? hehe, i don't think that is appropiate. Just call me a loser that is fine. These boards are not a place for foul language and behavior. I know bummer is an awesome dealer and deserves lots of repect, but if everyone starting to post hot deals from for sale forums then it would clutter a lot of space, but anyways this is a really good deal to be had.

My co-worker just picked up the scsi version. He bought it retail at a computer store. He paid about $350 bux for it. He said it works great.

yeah, burners are too fast these days, watch go and they crash all the time due to fast acceleration. i stick with my trusty 2x/2/4

No problems with my plextor 12/10/32. Burns nice and fast with no coasters.

hahah, yeah i know u woulda wanna push ur luck with all that speed now, lol!!! 2 speed, lol! I think 12x still is fine, but 16x is really fast, but in the future, burners will be able to burn a 80 cd in like a couple seconds, can't wait til that happens, lol

The problems with the drive are for one thing its not TRUE 16x. It starts the disk at 12x then moves to 16x further down the disk. Also, it only burns 10x cdrw with packet writing. It only burns at 8x during normal writing.

I have SCSI version of this drive, Yamaha 2100S. So far after almost 50 CDs burnt, drive works flawlessly. I can even burn Imation CD-Rs which are 10x rated at 16x speed without any problems whatsoever. In my own experience Yamaha 2100S has been an excellent drive for me so far
