<< Do I need to go get a prescription to buy contacts? I have contacts and glasses, I know what I need just don't feel like going to pay for an eye exam....... >>
buy from 1800contacts.com
legally, they are supposed to check your prescription, so you give them the name and # of your doctor, and here's what they do:
they fax your doctor at like 1 in the morning, and (I dont know the legal technicalities) but if they don't hear back from your doctor in like 8 hours, then its ok for them to assume that your doctor agrees with the prescription you are claiming to have, and they will send you the contacts. The thing is, how many places are going to check your prescription, and fax them back by 9am.
The reason I know this: the last time I went to see my eye doctor, it came up that I wasn't going to be buying my contacts from him, and he asked where I was buying them from. I said 1800contacts, and then he told me all that info, trying to convince me not to buy from them, because what they do is kind of shady. I said ok, and that I would buy from walmart. (doctor was trying to get me to pay a buttload to buy from him, but screw that ) >>
