I've ordered from Vision Direct twice before and they provided great service. Fast, well packaged shipping, and great prices. I made the mistake of ordering from a different vendor this time, and they've mailed me the wrong product 2 times now, I think I'm sticking with Vision Direct from now on ...

Actually, it depends on the state you live in. I used to live in Idaho, and they charged sales tax on contzct lenses.

I think vision direct is slightly cheaper once you average in the coupon. The rebate for a year's supply is available no matter what store you buy the contacts from so vision direct reigns supreme!



I prefer Daily Contacts because they are hassle free.

Just for future references, do NOT do business with www.lensdirect.com Their online inventory is not working. Put me on back order (they said 2-3 weeks) one week after I placed the order! They sent me a little card in the mail telling me I wasn't getting my contacts, and 5 days had gone by when I got this card. When I did it online they didn't say anything about back orders. Their customer service sucks too. It has been 3 weeks since I ordered my contacts and they still can't tell me when the order will be shipped out. Also they advertise for free shipping but do not give it to you unless you order $50 or more, this rule is in small print so you won't notice until you place your order! I do not wish anyone having to go through this. So BE AWARE!

vision direct is a good place to deal with, I ordered 30 disposable lenses for each eye last time I bought them, the lenses were good... I was amazed how quickly I recieved the lenses, they were sent priority mail I think and I got them in 3 days, much sooner than I had expected from canada.. also the lenses I got were the same brand and model but the boxes were pretty different, I guess they have different kinds of stock for different prescriptions

Can you do this? I was told that my contact lens prescription is only valid for the prescribed contact lens, and cannot be substituted.

I've found that for Acuvue 2 (and maybe other contact lens brands) costco and Sam's Club are the cheapest. Costco has Acuvue 2 boxes for $15.99 each while Sam's Club has them for $13.99 each. These are the boxes with 6 lenses in them. Online for Acuvue 2(using the lensprices.com site), it seems like I Wear Contacts has them from 13.50-15.75 depending on how many boxes you buy.

legally, they are supposed to check your prescription, so you give them the name and # of your doctor, and here's what they do:
they fax your doctor at like 1 in the morning, and (I dont know the legal technicalities) but if they don't hear back from your doctor in like 8 hours, then its ok for them to assume that your doctor agrees with the prescription you are claiming to have, and they will send you the contacts. The thing is, how many places are going to check your prescription, and fax them back by 9am.

The reason I know this: the last time I went to see my eye doctor, it came up that I wasn't going to be buying my contacts from him, and he asked where I was buying them from. I said 1800contacts, and then he told me all that info, trying to convince me not to buy from them, because what they do is kind of shady. I said ok, and that I would buy from walmart. (doctor was trying to get me to pay a buttload to buy from him, but screw that )
