Newegg is out of stock on the retail drives. I figured out it was cheaper for me to order from nexthardwareshop.com where they have them for $74 + ~$11 shipping. It came out to be cheaper than newegg by about $2.

I just got my OEM of this drive from NewEgg about an hour ago. They aren't kidding when they say OEM - this baby didn't even have a box inside of the one it was shipped in! However, it was well packed and does not appear to have been damaged in shipping. Came with everything else the retail version comes with except the CDR and CDRW discs, which I didn't feel like paying $2 extra for. And I would've thrown the box away anyway...

And the 1 year manufacturer warranty. Well worth the $2 extra IMHO.

one of the best drives i ever bought.

excellent performance beats my tdk 24x badly.

Retail drives usually come with cables and screw's wich in some cases can save you a trip to the computer store. Also tech support is better with retail drives wich most of us do not need, but it's there.
