I've been looking to get some rounded cables for the past week and found a great deal at SVC (Silicon Valley Compucycle). I've used them before and they are great.

18" ATA 133 Cable $6.99 ($7.99 for silver)
24" ATA 133 Cable $7.99 ($8.99 for silver)
24" Floppy Cable $4.99 ($5.99 for silver - I know it says it will be + $1.50, but it came out to $5.99 for me in checkout)

There are other rounded cables as well. Including 30" SCSI 50 pin or Ultra 160 for $9.99.

These are the best prices I have seen anywhere, especially on the silver, and they're shipping is unbeatable! $4.35 for an unlimited amount.

Go crazy, I did My computer's going to love me.

This is the first machine rounded single device ide cable I've seen. This will go nicely in my PC Cruiser!

Weirdly enough, they charge more for the single device than they do for the double device

These guys are good to deal with. They have good deals on HSFs, AS3(free shipping ) etc.
Also these guys won't screw you over shipping cost. ( In fact if you just order fan screws, they ship it free!)

Could be a dumb question, but what's the advantage of round cables (besides that they save some space and look really cool)?

they also allow air to circulate more so your system runs a bit cooler

that's what they are designed to do, but if you got some time and some good bending skills, it would probably have better airflow with regular ide cables folded out of the way. (but they don't look as sweet...I just put a window and cold cathode in my case so I think I'll be changing over to these pretty soon just for the looks)

Building my first box, any suggestions as to which of these to get? Is there a standard length? I'm sure it depends somewhat on the case being used and what's going in it. Leaning towards Coolermaster atc-110 and will put cdrw, dvd etc. in it along with two HD. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Automator, how about a bit more info on your order? Mainly, did they ship immediately, was it packaged properly and did it arrive in a timely manner. Also, were you happy with what you bought and with the company.

I am ALWAYS looking to save money, but I also will pay a bit more for good service and quality products. I ordered a bunch of stuff last night, and I believe this is my third order from SVC. Everything comes fast, and packaged well. I appreciate their fair shipping policy, as they don't low-ball you on an item, then jack up the shipping costs.

My first order from them actually cost more to ship then they charged me, but they absorbed the cost.

I ordered:

1 10" Floppy Cable
2 18" ATA133 Dual Device cables
4 Fan Screws (Just to have some around, especially at 0.09 per)
2 YS Tech 48.5cfm 80mm fans

$35.31

$4.35 shipping

$39.66 to my door.

The only thing I wish they had was sound bites of the fans like Sidewinder.

Hearing the higher pitched whine of the Ultra Fast Sunon made me decide to get two more YS Techs, as I already have two in my system.

whats the diff between silver and the regular cables?
color, no other diff

I have not tried these cables from SVC, but having the loop to help you remove the cable is very handy!

I ordered 2 floppy and 10 silver ATA133 18" cables.

I made some of my own a while back and they work fine, but 2 more 80 gig drives in the next 6 months and I'll have 4 for my raid array. The rounded cables are very important to use for space concerns with 4 drive arrays, even in Lian Li cases.

Thanks for the post.

I wish they came in a little bit longer sizes...my stock cables don't reach that great..but I suppose they are just the 18" ones...we'll see.

Christ...the sucky thing is that I would need to buy a hell of a lot of these for my rig lol...have 3 HD's plus all the usual stuff =) And the drives are all on separate channels DOH!!!!! *sigh* Well, 5 cables wouldn't be too bad if I hadn't just bought that GBA lol.
