Of course I wouldn't argue problems can't (sorry for double negative) occur using these type cables, but most of the conductive metal in a computer is either insulated or design to fit into something that is insulated. With that said, if anything gets shorted out, it will probably destroy something. I will be taking special precautions against these shorting out by using plastic ties to keep them securely in place away from pins on the MB or solder spots on drives or cards.
I chose the silver braided because they will match whatever color cathode I choose to use. Also, if I go aluminum in the future, these will blend nicely with that also. >>
dude, they are still in a clear over-tube, nothings going to short.
