Casio,

UPS will most likely just leave it if it is a ground shipment. YMMV (depending on your local hub), but the only time UPS has ever required a signature from me was for an Overnight delivery, and only some of them. They actually left a $4500 computer sitting on my front lawn a few years back - couldn't even be bothered to put it on my front porch. They also destroyed two Hitachi 21" Superscans on me before I finally received one in working order. They're more concerned with pushing the boxes through as quickly as possible than they are with anything else - 2nd Day and Overnight shipments are treated more carefully, but any heavy, delicate item that is sent UPS Ground is lucky to arrive intact. (At least around here. The Syracuse hub has the dubious honor of having one of the highest - if not the highest - damage rates nationwide.)

I got my monitor the next day.
I also ordered the monitor wipes (from that little popup of accessories..it's nice to see retail figure out how impulse shopping might be done online isn't it) and had them delivered in a seperate shipment.
The monitor is model 770c I see nothing on pixie site about this. I'm quite happy though. Nice bright and clear pic and will do up to 85 refresh upto 1024x768. Didn't come with any drivers; but, were easy to find on pixie site. Then 770c wasn't on driver list so picked 770 and away I go. 4 fron panel buttons control of onscreen menu including handy zoom feature that adjusts both H and V sizing at same time. Menu system nice and easy to control. Sweet little monitor for $70 shipped with cleaning wipes. Easily as good as most $150 to $200 17s that I've seen anyway.
I can't believe more didn't jump on, thier loss.
I guess "bump" is the word i want.. though i'm new and just guessing at it's meaning.

thanks all for the deal,
savagemikel

savagemikel:

The 770C is listed on Pixies site. They lump all 770's (Model 770/770E/770C ) under one listing. I don't think there's anything different between the models.

Also, no "drivers" are needed for the monitor. The "driver" file is only the .inf file (it just lets Windows know what the accepted refresh rates are for the various resolutions), plus a help file and a small .doc file. Stick with those listed in the manual and you have no problem.

Here's the link for the monitor "driver" from Pixie's site.

moohoohahaha! i just pulled it off.. well about 6 hours ago.. just got back from christmas shopping.. got the 770c! (they had the 750s but i insisted on the 770s hehe) anyways.. tried talking to the in store manager about getting it for 139 and still use the $40 off.. but couldn't talk my way into it.. and almost got the $20 off $20.. but my honesty stopped me! (the register lady saw that it was scribbled on my printout and was going to punch it in but i told her i couldn't because i didn't have the paper!) anyways, picked up some cd labels and i was good to go! so the monitor will eventually net out to bet $46 and change! I know it's not the greatest monitor but hey can't beat those prices!

Thanks Bob...

I guess I didn't dig deep enough on the pixie site to see it (or maybe just didn't notice it staring right at me).
True on the driver side; but, I like to have windows know what's going on especially as i set this up on friends system and encourage them to play around with it to some degree to learn what goes on.
I know previous 770s I've seen had an 8 button ( i think ) control system so it's different at least in that respect. New control system if fine though (better in fact than some mega buck monitors i've seen..not in features maybe, though i wouldn't say this is lacking there either, but just in nice simple control).
Bright and clear pic.
All in all very nice, especially for the price. Don't see how anyone could be let down with this deal.

Happy Holidays,
savagemikel

but then if ups leaves your pc at your front lawn, wouldn't that bother staples if someone broke it, and then they would have to replace it?

I personally, don't like to argue, so that's why I am so paranoid, I am really very shy (except when I am online, a hermit, as some would call me) so I don't want any trouble...

The next thing you know, staples will accuse me of mail fraud, saying that I am up to something especially, since I don't live in a reputable community, and I work 7 days a week, up until 7pm, ups only works until 5:30 ...

Casiotech, make the order then call UPS with your info and request them to deliver at a certain time and wait for signature.

Casiotech, if you are a shy person, how did you PM with those CSR, don't forgot the workload of those Staples CSR may be much more than other company like officemax because ton of anandtechers call them to PM everyday, sometime they can't stand and hang us up(I have the experience), I am wondering if you are a so called shy people, how did you call and get your PM pixie?

The only listing they have as of 12\26 is for $50 of the 17" for a total of $99.98. where is the rebate for $60 off 150 and the MIR info?

I found the $60 MIR info but no coupon stuff.
Could someone email it to me?? I'm gonna try it today sometime.

Walked into Staples to buy the monitor. Price had gone up $10 since the day before christmas. But the little sign with no price still said it was $79.. after $60 rebate. And the rebate forms on the Staples web page is different today than either of the two that were there the day before christmas. Measured the monitor with a yard stick and couldn't find any way to get the actual viewing size spec of 15.8" to match the 14.25" of the size of the image filling the screen of the demo. And with the quoted pixel size and the measured horizontal width of the image I can't see that 1280 pixels fit, without "generous" overlap of those pixels;} Paid for the monitor and they had to get the manager to revise the price charged to get it to agree with the $79 after the $60 rebate form they had behind the counter. Now, will both of those (different) rebate forms be accepted, or both be rejected because both were submitted? Or will even one of them make it through? It just keeps getting better and better

I finally received my monitor today. Wow, this thing has a nice crisp, bright picture and the controls are easy to use. This is also the first time I actually received a product that I ordered from Staples in 3 tries, YIPPEE!!! (besides paper clips and a pen).

Has anyone sent in their rebate forms yet? I haven't made many orders with Staples but what is considered the sales receipt?

My orders came with a paper that has a list of the items bought but it says "This is not an invoice" so that shouldn't be it...any help? =)

I always enclose a copy of my online order that shows the date I purchased the product and a copy of the invoice that comes with the product that proves I received the product and did not cancel the order. I have never had a problem doing it that way. I wish all sites were like Best Buy and had the "Print Receipt" option.

Is it just me or is it difficult navigating Staple's web site? It seems you can not logically go to a certain area without having to search. May be I just been spoiled by Pricewatch's straight forwardness.

When the TV came they charged me for it even though the CSR told me that I qualified for it. I am calling later today to either have it adjusted or return it.
