Don't post !!!HOT DEAL!!!@## for an item that's like 5 or 10% better than the lowest pricewatch price. That's not even a warm deal. In fact a deal like that should just posted "matter of factly."

Hmmm. How about this:

Plain post - up to 10% better than lowest pricewatch
Warm Deal - 10%-25% better than lowest pricewatch
Hot Deal - Better than 25% off lowest pricewatch

It is not clear to a beginner where the "Iwanna" thread is, since it does not always exist (I just looked). Are folks expected to wait around until an unknown person starts up an Iwanna section that day? Is it daily, weekly, monthly? How does that work? I do'nt understand why it doesn't belong in the Buy/Sell, since it is a Buy order, essentially.

See, I don't understand - what is meant by "I searched and found three iwanna"? Is that how navigation is done here, a Search on the word iwanna? How would a new person understand that? It's a colloquialism.

I've suggested that links to the IWANNA, HOW DO I, and BRAG AND MOAN threads be put on the top of the Hot Deals forum page for just that reason. People that have been here for a while and know where to post also know how to track down the appropriate thread but many junior members don't. Their posts get locked and much of the time they don't even realize why.

A few observations for those that will actually read this far down on the FAQ thread (you must be very bored):

It is obvious that most newbies don't read this thread!!! I suggest the thread subject be changed to attract more attention from juniors. Something along these lines might help:

FREE!!! HOT DEALS FAQ
FREE!!! How to save tons of money without annoying people.
FREE!!! BETTER THAN SEX!!!
FREE FOR ANANDTECH JUNIOR MEMBERS ONLY!!!
INTERCORSE ON HOT ITEMS!!!

Also, I do occasionally find member status information useful. Mainly it tells me who should know the rules of the road and who should be let off easy for infractions.

Status is also useful for uncovering shills. They usualy don't wait to achieve member status before pitching thier site.
