I got coupons just by going to there site and signing up on there email list. It took a few days to get the email, but if you do it now it might pay off for the next dell deal!

Ughh... tax kills the 20" planar. $750 for a monitor is just too much. Was tempted for a bit though.

The 48X/24X/48X CD-RW and 16X DVD-ROM Combo Drive is $69.05, is this a good deal, or is it worth $50 more for the TDK, DVD/RW drive? ??

Any opinions on whether to go with the Lite-On or the TDK DVD burner? I heard the Lite-On is supposed to be effectively the same as the Sony DRU-500AX. The seek time on the TDK seems to be faster but it only has a 2MB buffer as opposed to 8MB on the Lite-On, and it has slower CD-R writing (16x as opposed to 24x). Then again, the Lite-On has a slower DVD read speed. I'm leaning towards the Lite-On because of the larger buffer and higher CD-R speed.

Aww man, I'm torn between the G3 and the F717... or if I should wait for the 8 megapixel CCDs (before Christmas) to come out and see what the price drops are then. Damn damn damn. I would really like to pick up photography over the summer, especially some outdoor shots.
The V1? I haven't heard of that but I assume it a Sony offering? I have read up on the Canon G5 but I don't think my budget would extend that far. I am a real novice at photography and have recently (past year) developed an interest in it. I have a Minolta Maxxum SLR at home that no one uses because of its bulk and complexity (you can point and shoot but results are not being seen on film). So rather than waste money on film and dev, I thought I might as well start tinkering with shots and settings on digital and then after I learn a bit, try on film. This approach might be completely wrong (makes sense to me but perhaps someone who knows more might confirm). Digital photography sure is expensive, even in the prosumer market. Well, I have another 9 hours or so to think about it...Originally posted by: CheapArse

Sony is going to release their 8mp before end of summer, supposedly. Have you checked out the v1 yet? or the G5?

After taxes and stuff the DVD+R/RW drive is $181 - $40 MIR = $141, is it still worth it, or just wait for a better deal? If I didnt have the almost $20 in taxes it would be a no brainer. The combo drives (CDRW/DVD) probably wont drop much more before they go out of style, but the prices on these are dropping everyday.
WOOHOO! I found another 15% off coupon.
