Cool, when was this model released?

My 1900FP 3 year warranty expires 11/05 then I have an additional year of warranty coverage for free until 11/06.

By then I'll probably buy the Dell 3390FP to match with my Nokia 3390

I am kind of afraid. I have used the 1901FP. and that is what is always mentioned on here or FW. Now it seems to be gone, and this new model shows up. No reviews. Well I bought it anyway. Caution be damned. But if I hear something bad about it I'll cancel the order and probably get the 2001FP. I just wanted something slightly lower res for gaming, to better match my card (Radeon 9800 Pro).

edit. Also it freaks me out that the 1905FP seems to be cheaper. I am just worried that the LCD panel will turn out to be some POS. Although as far as I can tell there Dell has never gone backwards in terms of panel technology, so hopefully it will actually be better than the 1901.

I got in on the FP2001 deal on Sunday. The monitor came in today and I couldn't be happier. I'm coming from a high quality 17" CRT.

I picked up the 1703 FP and it seems to be really good although I am going to have to adjust form a good 19" CRT. THe games are 'ok' as long as you use the DVI connection and even then UT2K4 is not as rich as the CRT was.

You answered the question about why the new state tax is appearing. Haven't seen a mall kiosk yet but they must be there. Dell may have estimated that they'd get more sales in malls than by just waiting for new internet buyers to appear. I wonder if they figured in a drop in normal online purchases due to the added tax.

On another subject I wonder how much more LCD monitor prices will drop. That 2001FP is about what I paid for a 21" Trinitron CRT 4 years ago when 21" LCDs were about $1200. Hope prices keep falling.

The 2001FP is AMAZING!

Great for gaming and movies and worth every penny of the $674 IMO. Bought mine new for $700 a few months ago and I am very happy with it.

i ordered a 1905fp with a dell latittude d600 yesterday and am hoping the 1905fp will be at least as good (hopefully an improvement with greater contrast ratio and quicker response rate) than the 1901fp that i use at work. didn't get as quite of a good deal on the display, as i ordered it over the phone through dell sb (came out to about $504 plus tax for the display), but overall got a good deal on the laptop, docking station, lcd. the 1901fp is an outstanding lcd display for work. hopefully the 1905fp at home will perform for a little after-work gaming.

fyi i called dell yesterday and told them about the discount and coupon that i missed. the csr still gave me a 2001fp for $679 with free shipping, unfortunately i still had to pay tax. you may want to call and ask, all they can say is 'no'.

1905FP has 800:1 contrast as oppose to the 600:1 of the 1901FP...
1905FP has 20ms response time as oppse to the 25ms resposne time of the 1901FP...
Viewing angle has changed.
Bezel now thinner.

I think its a good improvement.. but I'm still waiting for a good deal on a 16ms or 12ms 19" LCD for gaming.

I really want one of the Dell LCD's for the swivel/movement and the USB is a plus for me

Sucks that only the 2001FP has 16ms...gaming abilities are a must.

Please anyone with experience with the 1905FP let us know about ghosting and such.
