Hot Disneyland/California Adventure deal for SoCal residents

This is a good deal if you want to go to both Disneyland and California Adventure. The offer is for SoCal residents to pay $6 more per person to go to both parks by Dec. 19.

"Walt Disney Co., seeking to boost lagging attendance at its Anaheim theme parks as the holidays approach, on Tuesday rolled out another discount offer for area residents.

Southern California residents can buy two tickets for a few dollars more than the price of one until Dec. 18, a discount that is considered unprecedented for this time of year.

Area adults can buy two tickets for $49--$6 more than the price of one. The same discount is available for children, whose tickets will cost $39 for two, compared with $33 for one. Guests can use their tickets to visit both Disneyland and California Adventure on any two days during the promotion, or they can opt to visit the same park twice."

my sis lives in la; can she buy three sets for me and send me tickets to go? or do they have to buy at the gates on day of going in? I checked the article and nothing there of the details. Nothing at special deals at disneyland.com either.

Please let me know if you have any info. Going in a month for three days at the parks. with my son and wife.

Just to let you southern ca residents know... I was there a couple months ago and you can get a season pass to both parks for $130 that is good about 250 days a year (no major holidays, summer weekends, and I think you can't use it for a whole week in summer and the week between xmas and new years). The season pass is not like magic mountain's, it is good for a year from the day you buy it.

Not too bad. I'd recommend the season pass if you live in town. I had one a couple years back and during the summers, parking was free after 5PM. So every couple weekends when there wasn't a good movie out, the gf and I would just stroll into the park for a couple hours, hang out and leave. No $ needed. I sure got the most out of my $100.

According to this press release, the day of purchase is the first use and you have until Dec. 19 for the second use. It doesn't say if the ID is checked when you go in. You may want to have the local person call Disneyland for clarification.

"In celebration of the holiday season, Southern Californians are eligible to receive admission to both DISNEYLAND and DISNEY'S CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE to experience the multitude of seasonal shows and attractions at the DISNEYLAND Resort, for the single price of $49 for adults and $39 for children ages three to nine. This offer is good from November 4 through December 18, 2001 and for residents living in the zip codes 90000 to 93599.

Once guests purchase these two-day tickets, they will be eligible to attend one park on the day of purchase, and either the same park or the other on any day they wish, up until the December 19 expiration date. Guests will be limited to five tickets per person with proper identification, and have to show proof of Southern California residency. "

Best deal is if you know someone who works there. My aunt works at Disneyland and says she can get me in for free. Something about employees being able to have a certain amount of guest passes per year.
