I don't think I would consider this Hot since monoprice.com offers cables for less cash. Not to mention they list the gauge of the internal wires, and they are proven to be high quality.

These aren't bad cables, but they are web only so shipping is involved. If they were in store then this would be a better deal unless you order over $50 to get free shipping. I have had great luck with svideo.com for my cables as they are good quality, and very inexpensive. I also work at a Radio Shack and believe most of their cables to be overpriced and overrated. This is usually the case at many retailers. I feel for the poor dude that shells out $130 for a Monster Cable DVI cable because he thinks it is superior to the $10 at svideo.com or monoprice.

I am not crapping here, just want to inform. Bottom line here is that the RS cables are nice cables if you can get them at a decent price and not have to pay shipping. Otherwise svideo.com, monoprice.com and a handful of other online stores will be a better choice.

I used to buy from pccables until I found monoprice...voila! Great stuff with great prices. Monoprice rules. Make sure you get a thicker gauge size because it does make a small difference.

nice price on dvi cables, didn't get one, but did get a dvi-hdmi adapter cable for $28 shipped. Not bad for the ability to output to my tv.

There's no such thing. Component video is 3 coax cables (usually RCA, but can also be BNC connectors), DVI is digital.

You might be talking about DVI-I cables, which can carry either a DVI or analog signal, but the analog version is usually RGB, not component

If it's less than $10 extra, I would go for the premium there, as analog seems to be a bit more touchy about that sort of thing.

Of course, if you're upgrading from composite or S-video, it's going to look better either way

i concur on the monoprice thing, i got some optical and hdmi cables for wicked cheap and ridiculously low shipping.

i have a thin dumpy component cable from radioshack, and a fancy heavy gauge one with the tight gold connectors that cost 80$ long ago and cant tell a difference. '

oh yeah and this is for a 53 inch 720p DLP tv

Hmm, even the monoprice web site looks expensive to me.

I just got a very good quality 15' DVI cable (dual-link dvi, though I'm only using it for single at 1920x1200) for $11 from ebay - $0.99 for the cable, and $9.95 for shipping. VERY fast shipping.

And guess what? The ebay seller was monoprice.com... Have a search -they have lots of cables for sale on ebay just now.

Not exactly true. I have a DVI to Component cable that I use between my Amp and DVI projector. The cable has 3 component cables on one end and a DVI-I on the other. So yes, it runs an analog, not a digital signal, but in a manner of speaking, a DVI - component cable does exist.

Well, if you want to get technical, component is YPbPr. Yours is DVI-I to 3-rca RGB, different signal.

Actually, it is YPbPr to DVI-I. It works on Component YPbPr out to DVI-I. I generally do not use it, opting instead for a DVI-D signal from HTPC to the projector, but if I do not want to wait for the bootup and want to use my set top DVD player, I do use it. It works fine.

Not where I got mine several years ago, but here is another one. Link to DVI-I to Component Cable
