Its a hammer drill -- useful for putting holes in tough stuff like concrete about 100 times faster than a normal drill. There's a weight that hits the drill bit and helps it move through those situations.

Anyway, this is a rediculous deal since I just paid $60 for a refurb (well, it was Makita) Hammer Drill which was 18V from amazon ... and I thought that was a decent deal. I dont think that this could possibly stand up for more than a couple of uses tho since they really take a beating.

EDIT: Not to mention that the makita sells very well at amazon:

Holy crap that's cheap. I'm thinking about picking up the 300 piece kit. Too bad I don't have more cash otherwise I'd get quite a few things from there.

I didn't buy this particular one, but I bought some other cheap Chinese knockoff hammer drill that was posted here on AnandTech several months back.

I haven't used it too much, but for under $10 it's probably already paid for itself. Definitely works good enough if you only plan to use one sparingly.

Just got mine in - A couple of observations:
1. It is absolutly not a brand name, but hey, what did you expect?
2. It works.
3. Hey, it works!!!

I also picked up the LED flashlight - ($9.99), damn it's bright!! The construction actually suprised me - it's not a Mag light, but....

The cordless spotlight is also fairly nice - don't think you get the 'full' 1.5 million (not as bright as the coleman it looks like), but it will light up the side of a house quite well...

The $3.49 led keychain is nice - plastic, but not too flimsy. (got that instead of the $1.49 because it has both temporary on (push) and locked on)

Hope it helps!!!

(remember, they charge a minimum $6.00 for S/H, so order a few things to make it better)

This is the same stuff Big Lot's offers every couple months for $9.95, (no shipping!) only the extras do not include a separate case. (S&H cool this deal).

I've gone through two of them in the past year.
Even with only light occasional use, they fail quicker than you can blink.
For light use, it should last at least twice as long as the 30 day warranty.
But, for the price, what do you expect?
1/2" chuck is the best part.

<rolls eyes>

First, this is a good deal. Stop threadcrapping.

Second, if you would have taken 1 second to look at the site that you posted, you would see that the minimum order size is 30 units. That's $188 before shipping for 30 crappy hammerdrills. I'd say that $8 is a much lower price if all you need is one.

HAHAHHAA gotta love thread crappers who cant even read their own "i gotta better deal here" pages. I think this is a good deal, as someone said above if you only get a few uses out of it it pays for itself. Just nice to have a tool when a job appears. I cant see spending $100-150.00 for a tool i may only use once. Thanks again for deal
