I just read a review on the Gainward ti4200 128mg card and they were comparing benches with all the other Gainward GF4 cards. The 64 mg card was actually faster because it utilizes 3.5ns ram vs. 4ns for the 128. At $167.00 shipped from Newegg, that deals (64 megger)hard to pass up.

What am I talkin' about?!? I already own a ti4600!

Maybe it's time to replace that Voodoo5 I have in my old 1.4 'bird box........

I ordered the visiontek ti4200 128 meg from buy.com. It appears to have a blue orb like heatsink on it. That could be good for overclocking. In any case the total price comes to $168 shipped. They were running a free shipping deal on orders over $100, a %10 discount for using a discover card, and a $20 manufacturer rebate. However, I ordered the card on Saturday and it still says "sent to warehouse."

I got in on this deal and the card rocks!
However I get an occasional blue screen now saying IRQ_Not_LESS_OR_EQUAL, it then gives the name of the driver for my network card!
Could this be related to my new GeForce4 or just a coincidence that my NIC is dying?

Meaning, is there any blurriness? text clear and crisp? nvidia cards have never been known for their 2d quality.

Haven't O/C yet, time spent sorting out the blue screens and finally found the culprit to be the new USB 2.0 card. Did some research and apparently putting ANY card in PCI slot 2 on an Asus A7V-266 is a no-no.
Did take the first step to ramp this baby up by removing the stock cooler and cleaning off the factory goop. It had the appearance and consistency of candlewax. Replaced with a nice coat of Arctic Alumina.
Now I need to cut up an old pentium cooler for ram heatsinks.

I was going to get the msi 4400. Then I read an article at toms hardware saying that the fan on it is 49 dba and the image quality is terrible. And what the heck is wrong witht the 4400/4600 cards? Everyone seems to be slamming them in this thread.

I am upgrading from a Radeon 8500:

2D is the same as it was with the 8500... great.
3D is a tad faster.
I have it overclocked to 280/490 from the original 250/445... no problems so far, and I am going to continue to push...
