Can those who own these cards confirm that the Evga or the one from Buy.com come with the DVI dongle to hook up the a 2nd CRT? I must have nView and I want to know which cards support it and come with the adapters.

I was going to get the msi 4400. Then I read an article at toms hardware saying that the fan on it is 49 dba and the image quality is terrible. And what the heck is wrong witht the 4400/4600 cards? Everyone seems to be slamming them in this thread.

Thanks, I didn't think to check the specs on the fan. Graphics cards should give me something to look at, not hear. You saved me a lot of annoyance.

Got mine today. Haven't had time to toy with it much, but I really dig their documentation with it. Features are top notch and everything seems of a professional quality I'd expect (unlike other things I've spent $200 on). I'd definately reccomend this one. Box is tiny as hell. When I got my package from newegg I thought they had sent me an OEM by mistake. Nope, full product, tiny box .

What makes the box issue so funny to me is the fact that I ordered a PNY Geforce 3 Ti200for the computer I'm building for my sister. When I opened the box on that thing I swore they had forgetten to give me the card. That card won an award in my heart for most oversized packaging.

Just put in the order for the card and Celeron 1.2G (need to bump up from my old P3-700@933 to appreciate more for the card). Hopefully I can hit 1.6G with 133 FBS, then I will be set for another year and half...

The total comes $283 (CA Tax sucks).

Is text nice and csharp or is it unsharp at higher resolutions?

For you guys concerned with the 2D image quality, just do a search for the fix that removes the filter onboard to get better text and 2D imagery. I know there were fixes for the GF3 family, I'm not entirely sure where online you could find one for the GF4 line of cards, but IIRC it was possible.

Cranked it all the way up to 1280x1084 and it looks perfectly fine and crisp to me. No blurs or distortions. Hope that helps. Thanks for clearing up your question.

Seriously, a dongle would really be a short piece of wire with a VGA connector on one end and a DVI connector on the other end (in this case). Not sure if the thing that you use with this card is actually a dongle, or really a converter (without the wire), kind of like the USB-PS2 converters you get with USB mice.

Just ordered one to replace my Radeon LE...I know the 3D will be SOOO Much better, but I'm doubting the 2D...we'll see what happends.

Before I finally make my order, I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on the fan that came on this one. It looks pretty ugly compared to the Gainward fan. Does it work at all? Should I simply buy the card, and a blue orb at the same time? On Evga's website they say that there have been bad reviews on their ACS2 cooling systems (although Evga disputes them...).

I've been running GTA3 with my system in the worst vertilated area possible and the game has not locked up or crashed once with this card. I think that speaks for it.

...I actually like the heatsync.
