I don't know... I can't get mine to read a couple of Hi-Val CDR's that my other Phyllips DVD/CDROM read just fine. I am not sure if the Hi-Val's were ever "closed" though so I spose that could be the problem. It reads other CDR's just fine.

Other than that it is noisy like all the others I've ever had.

But I have had it for quite a while... and it is still turn'n!

It will actually cost a couple of bucks ($2 to $3 actually)-- You have to pay sales tax at Staples (at least I do). But this will be my second ALMOST free Memorex CD-Rom from Staples. Cool !

I have one. Nero shows between 7x-8x, I believe. Can do 4x disc-to-disc burns on Plextor 8x4x32 with no problems...

OK, so I'm really new at this thing, too. The best I can figure out how this thing works I go to various websites and try to find these coupon codes. The one I tried for 20 off 50 came up as expired, even though it had been listed as exp. 2-3. Am I on the right track? I know there is all kinds of netiquette on this board related to stuff, so can someone give me a quick pointer? I'd love to team up this $free CDROM with my $5 one from Circuit City if it ever shows...better yet, lose the extra trip to Circuit City!
