I signed up for both. I got a date in Jun 2 and it says you can only get it from now till June 2. I'm thinking of calling around the end of May and try to reschedule the 2nd exam towards the end of June so I will have more time to study. Hopefully, that will work out okay.

thanks ive been meaning to take both for the longest.
also, for people who have a lot of test centers in their area, check both vue and prometric, they have different selections for test centers and times and dates.

Maybe this will finally help me get off my butt and take my Net+ test. I started studying for it a while ago, but never went to take the test. I didn't feel like studying for the MS tests before I took the Net+ so I haven't started them yet. So maybe I will go take my Net+ then get cracking on these two.

By the way, I think I have taken the VUE test before for my A+, what are the differance between VUE and Prometric?

Man free or not its a 4 HOUR test!!! I'm not in college anymore. I'll just pay the $125 and take the abridged version. Thanks anyways.

I tried to get the date extended but the lady at prometric told me that you have to take the exam by May 28 for Professional and June 2 for Server, after that the exams will no longer be offered for free.

Try searching on "MCSE 70-210" or whatever test number you need. Amazon has a nice selection but I wouldn't buy them there. Find what you want and then hop over to BookPool for a better price.

Example:
MCSE Self-paced training kit from MS (Windows 2000) is $139.99 + S&H at Amazon, $120.50 free S&H at Bookpool.

Yep, the place I work for is a VUE testing center. You can only take the Pro exam before the 28th and the Server exam before the 2nd. Doesn't look like they are making any exceptions.

Cleaner, sorry to burst your bubble but if you think there is an "abridged version ", your mistaken. Even if you pay the $125 for the test, it's still 4 hours.

The CramSession site used to have free PDF study guides available for download. You had to register and they periodically send you spam but they seemed to be pretty good.

Now it looks like the free guides are HTML only.

NO, they are beta testing the new tests so braindumpers can't cheat.

I'm not really familliar with the whole MS testing scheme. Would one or both of these tests make you a "Microsoft Certified Professional"? Anything better? or do you need to take more tests to get anything impressive sounding?

i think this boat is going by me. I cannot get any times to show up for these tests in the 5 or 6 locations near me in fullerton CA. Most have nothing in may at all, then stuff in june has days but no times. Anyone else run into this?

I think if you do 5 you're a MCSA

If you study for 210 hard you're going to find the 215 test easy IMHO. Then again, I took mine in 01

I'm seeing on other boards that people are getting cancellation notices in their emails. Stating that M$ has reached it's desired # of participants or whatever.

Anyone get such notice???
