In the last hour, Prometric removed both the 76-210 and 76-215 from their list. And Pearson is giving me this message "This discount cannot be used after May 17, 2003."

Guess I waited too long. I was waiting to see my friend at work who did a bunch of MS tests to see if there was a best local testing center to sign up for.

Thanks for this awesome deal! Just passed 76-210 an hour ago.

JRez, your brain must work like lightning! It took me a little over 3.5 hours to finish.

Did you get a confirmation email then got cancelled? I got a confirmation email. In it they say I need to bring the Testing ID (Is it my driver's license?) along with the registration ID (given in the email).

If they cancel it after the confirmation email, that would be a big bum....

I tried signing up with VUE Tuesday, but the deal was already dead. I tried signing up online, but couldn't get the correct time. I then went to the testing center and watched them enter the registration. The system would not accept the code for the 2000 Pro exam and it wouldn't allow me to sign up without the code (The exam appeared as $50 before the rebate, so even that price would have been a deal). I contacted VUE and they said that it was limited to 3000 people and was filled already.

I received the e-mail the night before this was posted, but did not have access to the computer that I stored my VUE account information. I did not want to post the deal immediately, because I was worried that I would lose out on it. I guess I still did!:|
I only had access with AOL at the time anyway, so I couldn't have posted if I wanted to.

pass one and you're a MCP, pass all 7 and you're a mcse

Wooohooo... Finish my test today so now I'm a MCP.. which means nothing. Of course I was little scared because someone came in and finish in like 15 mins and I was there for like 2 hours already. Anyways I look at his screen and he was doing his A+ certification.

Dang, why don't they ever have general vouchers? I've completed 70-210, 70-215, 70-216, 70-217, 70-229. After I pass 70-228 I get my MCDBA, then after I pass 70-219 I get my MCSE, then after 70-218 I will have my MCSA.

Anybody have codes for Cisco Tests?

Thanks for passing along this info - I signed up and passed both tests.

Question: How do you go about applying for your Microsoft certificate? I haven't received anything from Microsoft, just from the testing centers. I checked their website and you have to have some reg. number from Microsoft.

TIA

Once you've passed your first test, Microsoft will send you a large envelope with a bunch of reading materials about being a Microsoft Certified Professional. You get a MCP membership card that has your registration number on it and a spiffy little pin. After that you can go to the Microsoft Certification & Training site to register. After registering, you can go to the MCP site Link using your .NET password. Being an MCP is cool in itself. You get to use and download little Microsoft logos you can use on your web pages, emails, business cards and resumes.

The 210 was very easy.. not a problem at all (other than the computer kept crashing on me.. damn windows 98 first edition).. however the 215 was alot harder than i thought.. alot of Active Directory, Local Policies, and VPN Questions.

As far as I know, VUE is still accepting people to take this test, just not with the coupon anymore. Prometric was the only company canceling peoples registrations, which I think is just low.

If you've ever worked with Active Directory, then 215 should be a snap for you. Remember kids, you're trying to take this to learn the Win 2k Server OS, not just to pass some exams. 70-215 is relatively easy and goes over the basics of what the server line of products can do. I don't really consider 210 to be only Professional and 215 to be only server. They both make sure that you have a fundamental understanding of the OS and Active Directory. The core of the material for the MCSE is in the next 2 tests plus the design tests. I must say though, that 70-216 is the hardest test in the series. I failed it 3 times before I passed it. 70-217 is easier, but by no means cake.

If you're really interested, I can give you information on how to get 3 certifications by passing only 8 tests. Plus I can give you free resources for easily passing each exam. Just email me at samfrumsd@yahoo.com with the subject MCSE.

Passed the 76-210 today.
I thought I did pretty bad.
I was very unprepared, didn't know some of the stuff but I still managed to pass.

Good luck to all!

BTW, stay away from the Exam Cram Coriolis books.
They really weren't that helpful and didn't cover a lot of the material
