To do a price comparison, I went to a local Ace Hardware and asked the lady behind the counter "Can I get a $.05 screw?"

LOL!!!

a couple month ago i order 6 screws + all other parts to upgrade my hard drive on inspiron 5k and when the package came it had only 4 screws inside. if i'm order only 2 screws this time, does this make me a bad person?

Advocate:

What's sad--the innuendo, revenge being exacted from Dell, or the fact that they still want 5 cents for a screw that's refurbished?

u guys saying dell customer service sucks...are u a business or just a home customer? i work for a school and in general, they have been very good to us. so i am wondering whether they just mess around with home customers, or are they equal opportunity offenders. becuz many times my friends ask me what laptop or computer to buy. my lazy reply is to just tell them to get a dell, since my experience with them has been pretty good.

Go ahead order lots of screws seperatly. Then they'll take away free shipping. Wow you guys are very bright aren't you?

I ordered through the small business page for my store called Ebay store #1 :Q

Anyways, all of my cheap screws did come in seperate packages via UPS.

are you guys grown up? this is a most retarded move on everyone's part. i for one am glad for dell's free shipping, frequent 10% and 20% off sales, and (in general) good customer support. i've been getting good deals from them from my first computer (a PPro200, SCSI, 64MB, only $4000!) to a 15" LCD for xmas gifts.

get a life, guys.

<Ob: juvenile "screw Dell", "getting screwed", or "i need a screw" joke here. Haha.>

*ho hum* so looks like a good balance of dell haters and goody-two shoes.

hey if dell didn't want to be screwed, they shouldn't have LET themselves be.

I don't know. I work for a pretty large national ISP and they have YET to get any of our server orders right. They're always short on RAM, wrong size HD, heck...one time they put an IDE HD on a SCSI motherboard.....the drive wasn't even connected! Bunch of yutzes.

Guess I got really unlucky then. I called them three times, and was transfered at least half a dozen times on each call. I placed a business order, and they even transferred me to the home division :Q

I've made about 8 orders from dell and all of them were cancelled either by 1) Very long delays (Unreasonable 2+ months) and/or 2) They just cancelled my order. I've never gotten anything from dell :disgust::frown::|

I'm sorry if i'm wrong
but i don't know what's wrong with order just a screw if you really need it?
u don't want to pay for around $12 shipping charge just only for the screw correct?
because that's what happened to me last time, i just order the hd kits (screw, hd carrier, etc) for my inspiron 5000 which i believe is less than $20 and then i have to pay around $30 something which is overnight shipping (dell rep said that they don't offer other shipping except airborn express overnight shipping ).

this is just my opinion forgive me if i'm offended somebody.

Not that bad of a deal.
I actually bought 100 of them for future PC upgrades. You can never have enough of these, they always seem to get sucked up by the vacume cleaner!

And you know this how? Are you saying the two posters with their horror stories are lying? I tend to believe them.
