HOT? - Fry's PC3200 DDR400 512MB stick - $69.99

Legacy Electronics Branded. The stick they gave me is the BGA 32x8 variety (not 64Mx4) which seems to run very well and cool (at least when compared to my TSOP based DDR400 sticks). It's also low profile so it's good for those tight spaces/ITX PCs.

Put it all the way down to 2-3-2-3 timings (SPD timings are 3-3-3-8/DDR400) @ DDR400 and memtested it on my ASUS A7N8X-Deluxe. Passed the test 4 times. Running dual bank.

Note that you may get TSOP ones as well so YMMV on this one. Usually if you ask the checkout person that you want the BGA type, they're more than happy to request that for ya.

I think I will try some of this for my Dell 400SC. Wish me luck. I'll post back with the results.

Any way to tell if it is TSOP or BGA? I'd like the best chances of it working since it's a 45 minute drive to Frys.

Well BGA based chips are pinless, they look like the memory on newer vid cards. Stick should look like this.

The configuration is 32M*8 which is compatbile with all chipsets. The older ones they have in stock are 64M*4, which iirc, has limited compatibility (mainly works AMD systems). Just request for a BGA type module when you check out.
