Your best bet would be to get some kind person from Oregon to help you out since they don't have sales tax, or someone from Texas since shipping costs on average will be a little less.

This is what a "$59.99" combo would cost for me, for example, to send out:
$59.99 + $4.95 8.25% tax + $7.00-$8.00 FedEx ground/home (4lbs) + $0.30 + $2.09 2.9% (paypal fees) = around $74.50-$75.50. And that's not even counting the trouble of going to the store, packaging it up and shipping it out. Or dealing with the "buyer" trouble: people who try to slip an unconfirmed payment address and argue about it, or expect to do a cross ship/payment, or complain about what they receive (although both would be new and sealed of course)... no thanks.

I'm less than 3 blocks away from both a Fry's and a FedEx station, and go to each very often, but doing it for nothing doesn't appeal to me at all. It would have to be worthwhile for me to do this. Unless you really want the motherboard too, this isn't that great of a deal anymore.

got one at brokaw DLT3C JIHUB.

seems they all are the new revision sweet!

only prob is my ram and ecs board only go to 166mhz i think. anyone know anything about that athlon xp clock unlocker thingy you stick in the cpu slot? like how much it is? might be worth it considering these cpu's should hit atleast 2ghz.

Link - Not sure on price.... but is this method below valid? IF you have a mobo that can specify multiplier, though... CheapOManBios to the rescue?

Wire?

*edit* Ooo.. found a nice little guide to how to set multipliers on the fly with this board... multimod.

wow thats complicated but thanks

i found this, http://www.ocinside.de/index_e.html interactive pin mod guide for amd athlon xp seems much easier since your just sticking a few wires in the pin holes

you can get $40 easy for that mobo in our own FS forum, I have used a few of these and love them. Yeah, you cannot use PCI 1 and USB 2.0, but that still leaves 4 slots. Onboard lan is great, sound is decent. Everyone I have used has been rock stable, running 24/7 for weeks on end, plays BF1942 and others with no problems......

I want one of these....

Anyone from Portland wouldn't have happened to pick up an extra one?

Are they out of stock in Oregon or are you out of town?

I got a couple new 15" NEC Black LCDs.

If anyone needs an LCD and can get me a 2400+/ECS combo then
maybe we can work a trade.

or

I can pay cash for the combo. They really need a frys around here..

Wow.. that pin mode guide looks really nice, reallly simple. I just wish you didn't have to cut the voltage traces to change that, that multimod guide I gave lets you change most everything without making 1 incision into the traces of either the board or the CPU...

JK. Seriously, there are two Fry's sales periods. The offers are good through each period, but are often repeated and sometimes carried over. They are from Fridays-Tues and Wed-Thrus.

Check that, it just said in a note that "otherwise you're just able to build a higher Vcore depending to the actual L11 bridge
and Pin-Mod combinations". But, since the DLT3C that everyone is getting is the lowest, 1.5v [I think, don't quote me] does that mean we wouldn't *need* to cut bridges?

i dunno, but from what i've seen you probably can eek out a 2ghz from stock voltage. so if all goes to sh*t, all is not lost

got mine up to 2.35ghz. i dunno what thats equiv to, 3200+? 3300+? who knows cuz amd didn't change it in a linear way, its convoluted. anyways, i did the wire mod. in the interactive wire mod calculator thing i selected t-bred/1.65V and 17x fsb.

the board spit out 1.69v instead, which isn't a bad thing for oc. 17multiplier and its worked up to 138bus which is what i'm using. i could probably go with a higher voltage and use 147bus, but 2.4ghz is high as one should go with stock cooling from what was said at the overclockers.com forums.

not bad for 59 dollars, not bad at all.

yes the L denotes 1.5v

I would ask that too, does it have the correct divider to go to that? I'm going to have to pull the heatsink off and to the socket mod... meaning a tube of Arctic Silver what not... with the stock heatsink even the RadioShack compound might work.

But does the K7S5A Pro have the correct divider to do 166safetly? If so, I might go to 166 and drop down the multiplier....

remember, when settings a fsb in bios that hangs the system, you gotta reset the bios setting by shorting that pin cap thing near the pci slots. annoying as heck. other m/b don't make you do that kinda stuff. and i do have the cheepo installed.

don't feel like the hassle. the board doesn't boot at 166/166. its a known bug. you have to get to that in windows through speed fan or whatever you use each time you boot. i dunno about board stability at 166/166, and so my first try wasn't at 166/166 i do have 2700mem, but don't really care all that much right now. my first attempt at 2.4ghz went oddly to 2.5ghz at only 1.6v. wire mod is a bit funky, dunno if the settings were wrong or if a wire wasn't contacting right. that didn't boot obviously. 2nd try was my current setup. 2.35ghz impressed me quite enough already and i'm happy with that for now. after all, #1 priority is making sure the chip can run at the higher speeds, tweaking can come later. plus i needed to do some stress testing and so far its stable and no hot. i can easily boot with 147/147 bios setting cuz thats what i used before i tried the wire mod.

maybe i'll try a different multiplier with that bus later. or maybe even higher.. dunno if the 150/150 failed because it was at stock voltage when i tried.

first things first, gotta get a better cooler for this o/c. slk-800 seems good.

btw i've read it does the correct multiplier after 150/150

It should prolly go to that if you increase the FSB to 166 but drop down the multiplier. But what I'm worried about is, if I bump up the FSB to 166 [PC2700 spec], will the PCI bus run at 33mhz per usual, or will it go at 66mhz, since it doesn't have the correct divider? If anyone knows this for sure please post and let me know. This could be nice if I could keep it at stock voltage, use a stock fan, and go from there.

*edit* Whoops.... found it here Thanks for any help though...

from what i've read it does have the divider after 150. but you must access 166mhz through windows only it will no boot regardless if done through bios.
