Check your local Toys R' Us if you're hot for the SP - that's where I picked up mine today. It was actually there as of Friday. Not sure if this is nation-wide, so YMMV.

I have checked several stores, BB, Toy R Us, CC, EB, Software Etc, and no one is selling it early

BB in Williston, VT has theirs out. Bought mine 2 days ago. The SP totally rocks -- I love this thing.

You won't find any at CompUSA, they claim they were sold out "in the first 30 seconds" even though when I called they said they had plenty in stock. Best Buy is also (of course) out of the free carrying case.

I picked mine up today at BB, I had the PM the CompUSA deal so they gave me any game up to $29.99 in place of Guilty Gear X that they were out of. I picked up Zelda, I should have picked up SSX Tricky for $10, but didn't. They were out of the carry the carrying case, but they rain checked it so I will get it.

I got mines at COMPUSA today, got it around 12 or so and they said they had a few left. Guilty gear x is a great game on the playstation, and even though its toned down to fit for the GBA, its still a great fighting game.

I don't know, but when I push it in I have to force it real hard, and taking it out is a real pain in the ass, it almost seems like I am breaking it.

I wonder what other people think of it. No one has mentioned it yet.

If you have some of the old versions of the Flash Advance Linkers or the new Extreme Versions, the tops of them are oversized and do not fit properly in the new GBA. You could sand it down and it should work fine. I have no problems using my FA256 playing PocketNES.

probably thats why. where is a good place to get a newer 256 card from reliably?

I paid 120 for my 64 card 1 year ago. so expensive, and some games are 128 nowadays.

i've seen 128mbit flash2advance kits for around $80 and 256mbit kits for $130..however, it's a good thing I never ordered one, for if it doesn't fit properly in my gbasp its rather useless..

guess i'll wait till i hear some more reports on how various cards are doing..i can't wait to play zelda 1/2 and galaxy 5000 on my GBA

As always, YMMV, but I went back to Toys R Us today (Sunday) after buying my SP yesterday (Saturday) and got them to in effect PM the SP + Game deal going on @ CompUSA. They didn't have, or didn't carry, Guilty Gear X, so they let me p-u a game valued up to $29.99. Pretty sweet.

Best Buy won't PM if the other store is OOS, and since they're right next door I had no chance. Best Buy was also out of the free carrying case (you'd think they'd mention in the ad that they only had like 20 per store). I didn't get one there, since I knew that getting a rain check at a Best Buy is like getting nothing at all. They've never honored any of the ones I've gotten from them.

Anyway, I ended up getting an SP at Target, they were giving away Driver 2 with the purchase. I have to admit that now that I have it it seems really ghey. I had an original Advance, and other than the lack of a backlight I really liked the form factor. This new one is just retarded, the backlight (well, sidelight) does not evenly light the screen, and the unit feels really cheap in my opinion. I think I'm going to get Metroid and the Zelda games, play through them, and then get rid of this thing.

I got mine at Best Buy. They wouldn't PM CUSA and they only had 10 of the carrying cases to begin with. What was worse was that they sold half of them on Saturday. Fortunately for me, I bought 2 SPs and 2 carrying cases, then went back Sunday to get credited the money for the cases. Sucky little case though. It will only hold 2 games.

I have to disagree with the previous poster. I really like the feel of the SP and the frontlit display is very even on mine.

i picked up a new sp + free driver 2 at target yesterday along with pokemon sapphire (which was $10 off). i also got a 10% discount for being related to an employee so i really got a good deal

i am very happy with the look and feel of the unit and the screen comes in sharp. the colors could be a little better when the light is on but 10 hours of battery life is nothing to sneeze at. driver 2 is sort of "meh" but a free game is a free game

Hey... The Gameboy finally has a backlight! I guess they have finally caught up with the Atari Lynx from 10-15 years ago, which is still IMHO a *much* better machine than any of the GB's ever have been...

Yeah, or the TubroGrafix 16 TurboExpress, which was nothing less than the ACTUAL console in portable form, which meant it played all of the regular games! I can't believe that was so overlooked.

Actually it still doesn't have a backlight.
