hot!!! gamecube deal at target

got GC, extra controller, star wars, and memory card for $260. how?!? well target had a coupon book where you buy 3 games and a memory card and you get a free controller. the total came out to be $400 for everything, but i got 10% off b/c i signed up for a target card, and since i don't want two of the games, i'm going to return two of them, which is $100. so $400-$40-$100 = $260. also, i snagged an extra coupon so i'm going to go back, buy 3 more games and a memory card and get another extra controller, and return everything except the free controller. can't beat this deal...

so for those of you who still have the coupon book from target b/c target ran out of accessories, use your mind!!!

i asked them if i can return it and they said that i could.

also, when i look at the receipt, they just scan a coupon that doesn't specifically refer to the free controller. it just says, "target coupon," so it seems like the coupon is just a general coupon not linked to a specific item on the receipt.

All the Targets around here issue receipts with barcodes that they use when you return items. They scan the barcode and it brings up your entire order including any "special offers". If any item on the receipt that you return is part of any coupon or special offer, the computer will catch it. I know for a fact because I tried something similar last year when I purchased a PS2 for my niece. At that time, Target was offering a deal where you buy two accessories and get one free with the purchase of a PS2 console. I ended up returning the PS2 because my sister had already purchased a PS2 for my niece. Anyway, when I returned the PS2 console they tried to charge me for the third accessory since it was only free with the purchase of the PS2 console. I ened up returning everything.

This sounds like one of my shady deals. I bought 2 games w/$10 off at Best Buy the other day. Opened them and played them both. Then came the 3 games for $30 off, so I went back, bought 3 games (the same two original I bought) and as soon as I payed for them, I marched right over to customer service and returned them. The manager saw me and gamve me crap saying that this was fraud, etc. but I bitched at him for like 10 seconds and no problems.

Mark my words though that if I get the coupon then I will do this as well. Anyone have the coupon? Is it printable?

Yeah, way to go. :disgust: You are taking money directly away from Target, and it is "legal," so the more you can do it, the better. Right?

Here's another "hot deal." Stores like WalMart and Target have such generous return policies that you can keep a game console, DVD player, hifi VCR, etc., for a while and then return it for a full refund. Gee, if you do this repeatedly for every piece of electronics that you own, you don't really have to pay for anything. If the poor CSR gives you a hard time, just loudly bitch about their stated policy, or ask to speak to her supervisor, etc. That way, nobody's hurt (yeah, right...) and you get your jollies at the same time.

What you did is fine, it's basically a price guarantee. You could have tried asking them to honor it straight up w/o pulling the loop you did.

Now what the other guys are suggesting is fraud or petty theft. Make your own call.
